No Man's Sky - Procedural space game

not sure if anyone seen this yet, we have more of an idea on what we'll be doing. Gotta say I'm finally excited to see what we can do. Now we get to see and hear about trading, surviving, crafting, combat etc. Ppl say it looks boring, I think personally along with Star Citizen, we truly are going to have some epic space worlds finally. This looks like it'll be a great game to kick back and chill out after a hard days work

Quite excited for this, I enjoy a chillout basic exploration game in space

That does look good. I think i will have to buy it just to experience it. I always wondered what the goal was but he says its to get to that light at the center of the universe, if everyone is doing that then surely the nearer you get the most chance of bumping into people.

I take it more along the lines of 'a goal' rather than 'the goal', all depends on how you want to play.

Still a massive shame there's no sort of co-op, i.e. start the game in the same area with a friend. I wonder if the jump drives you get later in the game would be powerful enough to jump to specific coordinates, so you'd just need to get your friend's coords & jump there.

I'm still a little undecided. Even the latest gameplay video doesn't really show that much to do and ultimately, even though everything is procedural, it seems like it might become very repetitive.

Still really undecided on this.... hmm...

Same, I want to play this but unsure if it's going to have the depth to keep players interested. I've heard you can take sides in conflicts you come across, but not heard if there is going to be back stories to the various factions or if you'll get missions from them. Would be good if there was & not just a case of happening on battles.

I think it's fairly certain this game won't have the depth many dreamed it would when first announced. It looks to me more of a casual, chill-out game like Euro Truck Sim, albeit with some combat and risk of death. Just kick back, fly round space, collect a few things, go here, do that, perhaps slightly aimless yet relaxing as opposed to GO! GO! GO! OBJECTIVE! TIME LIMIT! ENEMIES! DEATH!

Looking at it from that perspective I remain interested. Not sure about paying the RRP though that has more to do with my current gaming habits (ie: hardly gaming) and my backlog.

Can't decide if this will be better on PS4 or PC.

Potential for this to look better and keyboard & mouse setup on PC but with the the pace of the game looking pretty slow for the most part I'm not sure if kicking back in the lounge with a pad might be preferable.

Not a bad shout, not used it myself, how does the connection hold up?

Am thinking the lag in a fast paced FPS or driving game might be an issue but again with the generally slower pace of NMS it might be a non-issue.

I have one connected via gigabit ethernet, never tried it over wifi. But I have no lag really, can easily play Rocket League and the like. If you have a spare laptop you can get the same experience using in home streaming although I found the Steamlink to do a better job.

Mine's hardwired too and it's fantastic with an xb360 controller, couldn't get away with the steam controller. Interested in trying with a mouse and keyboard. I can't detect any lag at all.
