No Man's Sky - Procedural space game

Anyone got a link to an explanation to the issues surrounding this game to save me trawling the thread please?

1. The game you will be playing isn't the same game advertised on the steam store.

2. The content they tell you is within the game regardless of the screenshots selling it actually isn't in game at all.

3. A massive space exploration game with vast degrees of entertainment is actually just a mining simulator with no end game.

There's a reason they were under investigation for false advertising, and I'm really struggling with myself to not reveal the result.

Think it's safe to say I will never buy a game from hello games again and will probably blacklist whatever studio the devs move to, cos lets face it, this studio is going under and it will be one of the biggest stories gaming wise this decade I reckon. I would call it 'how £40mil went up the ****ter'.

I wish they'd never released NMS on PC.

I like the game on PS4, and it'd be sad to see this studio go under without further development to it.

Shame there's never the same hatred/vitriol towards the AAA publishers, shovelling out the same broken **** year in year out.
If people would just learn to stop pointlessly pre-ordering, most of this could be avoided.

It was good for the first few planets. But then you've seen everything, including all the copy/paste prefab structures with identical interiors.

it wouldn't have helped. if people bought day 1/2 they'd have the same issue. the only solution then would be to wait a week after every release to see if it's legit.

the issue any way comes from the out right lies. had they sold this as a game that's work in progress, features to comes, not said it HAS mutliplayer, then we wouldn't have an issue

Is there anywhere where one could still place a monetary bet on the outcome of this apparently confidential NDA covered hush hush "keep schtum about it" ruling? I think I'm prepared to make guess on the possible outcome.

A lost cause imo, it's too late. The updates will please the fans but they will never make the numbers back that existed at pre release and launch. People have been burned and/or moved on to the new games that have been and shortly will be released.

The number of players will rise when the update lands but will drop off pretty quick but the devs won't really care as they've made their money from launch sales and this is just damage control.
