No Man's Sky - Procedural space game

Ok so who is having completely crazy frame drops in this game? I play at high to ultra settings at 4K with my i7 and 1080ti and one second it will be a smooth 60 fps and then the next it drops down to like 30 fps...... Its all over the place!!

Probably the procedural generation hammering your cpu. Similar setup here and just about copes at 1440p.

Yep, same here. My CPU load is 10% too... literally my Ryzen is in quiet mode with no fan spinning up.

And yet my GPU is screaming (RX 580).

I tried various settings and changing from low to ultra with minimal impact of fps. This is at 1440p which I know is pushing the RX 580, but still, other games are waaaay more constant.

So you can have a base computer on more than one planet, but the hud/compass only shows one at a time.
How do you find the planets you have dropped a base computer on?
You know, should you wish to return to them because the farming is so easy and care free.

The base comp says use the portal on the station to come back, but it's dead to me.

Galaxy map? Not sure. Having a transport gate certainly makes things easier.

Smooth as a baby's backside for me- except a huge judder/stutter when approaching a planet. But it's always done that...

Not come across the galaxy map yet, perhaps you need hyper-drive first?

Guess that's why the gate in the stations are offline, I have no gates out in the field yet.

Decided to bring my recording/streaming PC down today to see how this game looks in 4k on LG OLED. WOW :D Incredible pin sharp, the colours are amazing, performance not to shabby either. Much better than my Vega64 rig, apparently AMD doesn't play nice with OpenGL and Havok engine.

I'm off to the shops, 6 pack inbound, curry takeaway and a night on the sofa with a controller chillin out is the order tonight.

Can't believe how good this game is now. So much more to the game, loving finding salvaged modules and using them to unlock blueprints. Days later, only worked out you can use the navigation modules on the signal booster to find a whole host of important sites. Just went after an artefact site, dug down and found the keys to two chests near by. They only held about 8 million in ancient artefacts :) So many layers to this game now.

Fair play, some quick bug fixes. Possibly the biggest turnaround in gaming history.

The exact term I used or have been using for months following the ARG, yet everyone still wont put down their pitchforks or tell me I'm retarded to say such a thing. Game is fantastic now, only going to get better also. There's layers of depth and content now, love it.
