No Man's Sky - Procedural space game

I wonder how much they will support this post release. Any DLC planned that we know of?
No DLC plans. They said that DLC in the traditional sense(added content) wouldn't make much sense for the game.

But they do plan on continuing to support the game post-launch, yes. It will be more feature/systems-related updates, though.

Few weeks from launch and still no PC footage concerns me.

I know Sony are backing this big-time hence the PS4 focus which is fine but to have nothing at this stage really worries me.

You're assuming we haven't already seen PC footage.

Very few times has the actual source of footage been stated.

Yeah they've rarely been explicit about the platform, although given the size of the developer I wouldn't expect mega bells and whistles on the PC version at launch, there's been no specific mention of VR support etc.

Well, every video I've seen has either started with the PS4 logo and sound or had somebody playing the game with a PS4 controller. I haven't once seen a video where the camera movement is controlled by somebody using a mouse.

Could be someone on pc but with a ps4 controller so would show the same key prompts.

I know for one I won't be playing this on keyboard and mouse on pc...this game has controller and feet up written all over it.

Hmm not sure about this game. Its just been so quiet for such a long time. They are not like shoving it in our faces etc. Is not multiplayer. But a part of me wants it just cannot work out why?

It's had plenty of coverage, IGN First etc! Not been anything official mentioned but it seems clear that Sony have a deal with them, suspect it will be a big title for the Neo launch with PSVR support.

Internet has been down again for days, quite looking forward to a decent single player game!

I don't think people talking about multiplayer quite understand the numbers involved with a galaxy this size :) Given the random starting positions it's quite possible it would take many lifetimes to get to your friends

Is there any news on this supporting the Rift/Vive? Can't find anything on the Steam store page but I think it would be a good candidate.

Looking forward to the release but personally I do feel the price is a little steep.

Yeah its not trying to be a multiplayer space game. Its a single player exploration game where you just happen to be in the same universe as everyone else. The scale of the game fits what it's trying to be (I.e. its huge, and your on your own).

Absolutely. And I'm quite fine with that.

No, nothing official. They have said that VR is something they think *could* fit their game very well, but they emphasized they are a very small team and so need to prioritize getting the game out in working order for launch date.

I expect there will be a decent effort to 'hack' VR support in the game on PC via VorpX or whatever, but it sounds to me like so long as the game is successful enough, they'll try and work it in at a later date in an official capacity. It's a bit tricky for them as they have to work both cockpit and on-foot 1st person perspectives.

In theory simple VR support wouldn't be too difficult. It would just be a case of mapping mouse/an analogue stick's movements to instead be defined by your head movements.

But I expect you would want different elements of the movement to be VR controlled at different points, and thats where it gets more difficult. It may not be as easy as just mapping right stick movement.

Logically this fits quite well with the Rift style of VR, i.e. retain a gamepay control for movement and interaction, but allow freedom to look around using the headset.
