No Man's Sky - Procedural space game

I'll wait on Mac at Worth a buy on youtube reviewing it first, very excited by it but I trust him more than anyone else to give a proper "ordinary blokes" opinion on it. He nailed Witcher 3 for me, shame I'd already bought it and found I liked the card mini-game more than the game by that point :D

100%, love his reviews

So this person has played the PS4 version, found it very buggy and used an exploit to make it go faster only he says it isn't an exploit  Well, when I get round to playing it I'll take my time, avoid shortcuts and exploits and try to enjoy it.

I expect NMS to be another Elite, sound like it has tons of content but realistically a repetitive experience. This is not a problem for me, if the game is fun then I'm happy to grind away doing the same stuff to advance.

Wait for a proper PC review, defo watch WAB's review (as he's a legend) and don't ridicule those who pre-order it.

This tbh.

Just because it isn't your type of game it doesn't make the rest of us crazy for preordering. It is our money to do with what we want. I will be happy if the game is only what we have seen in the videos tbh.

It could be my type of game (I'm going to wait and see), I'm just not (semi)blindly going to preorder. You're taking a gamble based on a few manufactured trailers. Good luck to you..i hope it works out (I mean that, no sarcasm).

I hope it turns out to be an all time great, but you're preordering just on the hope that it is. Preorders come with very little benefit but allow the cycle of crappy games to be marketed and sold to people who are can't wait.

Yup. He's my go to on reviews at the moment.

Can get a refund on steam if it isn't, but at least I will have it ready...

This isn't just a conveyor-belt franchise release from a big developer, it's a small indie that have taken a huge risk on something new and ambitious, I'm happy just supporting them.

I've only bought 3 games on release in the last two years, this'll be the fourth, and I'm confident it'll be worth the money, same as the others!

God, can't remember the last game I pre-ordered. I pre-order the Wow expansions, but other than that I normally hang on for a while, but I'm looking forward to this & am confident it's worth getting to play on day 1.

And like Mid_Gen said I'm happy to support a small indie studio who have produced one of the most ambitious games I've ever seen.

It is a small indie studio and the budget was probably very moderate. But it's being marketed by Sony like they would a 1st party game and they are pricing it the same as a full priced AAA game. With the existing hype, they will make a ridiculous amount of money off this, guaranteed.

By all means, get it because you really want to play it, but dont for a second worry about needing to support the developer. They are going to be swimming in it here soon.

Oh I'm sure they will do very well out of it on the back of the interest so far. I'm still happy to be part of that.

I don't have any preconceived false expectations that I'm going to have my hand held through a deep narrative experience or anything. It's going to be a beautiful sandbox to explore.

I quite enjoyed EDs sandbox but the problem is it's a bleak, dead sandbox. A bit of colour and life and that's all I need to get my money's worth.

When ED has planetary landings on all planets (Except gas giants & the like) then I reckon it'll be incredible.

But until (& probably after) then NMS will hopefully be the game that people wanting to explore a galaxy in this scale will still play.

You'd have to be crazy to pre-order this. It pretty much ticks all the boxes for reasons not to. I really hope it's fantastic, and will buy it if it is...but there's zero chance I'm preordering.

Some game are worth supporting purely because of what they're attempting. I've funded Kickstarter projects for just that reason. Plus being able to play the minute it gets released with pre-loading.

This ticks the most important pre-order boxes for me.

I love Mac's videos. This could be a belter. DING DING DING.

Yeah he is great :D You've just reminded me to subscribe to his channel :D

In terms of Pre-Ordering - In my opinion, there will never be a good reason to pre-order a game. I predict this game has been way over-hyped, and will get disappointing reviews... But we shall see.

never heard of this reviewer but im intrigued, i ususally rely on the Totalbiscuit, Jim Sterlings for my reviews as I tend to agree with most of their opinions.

/edit

Nevermind just watched his Witcher 3 review, complete tosh.

So can you only buy no Man's Sky for PC only from Steam?

I have looked at all the normal game stores like GMG, cdkeys, amazon, game and they don't seem to have it.
