No Man's Sky - Procedural space game

So can you only buy no Man's Sky for PC only from Steam?

I have looked at all the normal game stores like GMG, cdkeys, amazon, game and they don't seem to have it.

Looked on Kinguin, but it was more expensive on there than Steam or GOG.

never heard of this reviewer but im intrigued, i ususally rely on the Totalbiscuit, Jim Sterlings for my reviews as I tend to agree with most of their opinions.

/edit

Nevermind just watched his Witcher 3 review, complete tosh.

You just have to check his Steam page to see how long he plays the games he reviews. Often he's done a review after no more than half an hour, some even less than that. He is funny no doubt, but he surely cannot be classed a serious games critic. I personally have gone off him a bit in recent times as he seems to be playing the misogynistic bell ringing card too much these days compared to when he first started.

So this person has played the PS4 version, found it very buggy and used an exploit to make it go faster only he says it isn't an exploit  Well, when I get round to playing it I'll take my time, avoid shortcuts and exploits and try to enjoy it.

Not quite. The system he used to make bank in the game accelerates the gameplay so hard that he thought it was an exploit before realising that it was actually intentional as it revolves around an item that was supposed to be hard to get , but apparently it easy to acquire consistently.

He basically said the game was fine (but buggy) until then.
He even says that despite knowing he could race to the centre, that he did stop off and explore more out of sheer boredom and he feels he missed nothing at all once he was rushing there.

I still think its an interesting game, but its way overhyped and people are gonna be mad about it no doubt.

Yeah I used to like his reviews but can't take him srsly after he totally slated DS3 He has a mind that can't grasp certain games..he belittles or dumbs down those games with comments like "just pressing lmb constantly" ergo spam spam bleeerg. He can be funny but not genuine PC gamer for me

Yeah, I disagree with most of what he says and find his 'I'm the best Quake player ever' rants a bit tedious. But he does make me laugh too. So, swings and roundabouts :)

well just read a story that the guy who brought the expensive ebay copy has got to the center of the universe completing it in 30 hrs.

so pretty much what i thought. a week of playing then thanks for coming.:p

Are there that many games that you can't complete in 30 hours if you go for it?

I'd consider 30 hours a reasonable return on the purchase, but I plan on playing it a lot more casually and taking my time.

Sounds like an epeen points chaser rather than someone who has played the game.

First to buy it > first to finish it > look how cool i am.

Most games can be speed run, by skipping what the game is actually about.

Pointless imo

He did so by means of an exploit. People suspect his copy might not actually be the retail release, but a developer build for demonstration purposes. See here for more info.

realsitically if you get a full week of gameplay out of a retail game these days its not bad buy is it really.

most big single player games arent even ten most of time so its not too bad.

sort of like skyrim you can do the main mission story in about a week first time you play it not too much each day but if you do all the side story missions and such you could spend months doing it.

this just looks a little too simple though.so i think most will race through it anyway to get to where they need to be and not play it again.

In short people salty that their 'perfect game' is nothing more than minecraft in space with even less to do, and are seeking to find validity for years of hype.
One of his points is the smudge on the disk? ****ing please.....
oh and once again it wasn't an exploit, its in the game.

If I get £1/hour of gameplay I consider it value for money, games like Rimworld, ARK, Star Citizen are all way past this at early access so I'm happy already. NMS will almost certainly give me 50+ hours in the long run, how much would 50 hours at the cinema cost these days lol

On reflection, you're probably right. Nevertheless, his rate of progress is definitely cause for concern. Apparently he reached out to the developers because he was acquiring currency and fuel far too quickly.
