No Man's Sky - Procedural space game

the game is marketed by Sean as a chill out game. It's not for the hardcore gamer and it's never been eluded to in that sense.

I'll enjoy getting in from a long day at work and unwinding with this. It feels very minecraft to me.

It's obvious that the guy in the video above doesn't like the game, which is fair. However his tone on the video (as well as his script) leaned very heavily into conveying that he thinks it's boring.

This tbh. It isn't meant to be a hardcore sim and anyone expecting this will of course be disappointed. However, it looks perfect for a casual game where you can just relax and explore.

This is a little bit disappointing/concerning

I was half expecting 6pm, but it could well unlock a little early as per the norm. Shame it isn't at the very start of the day though.

I think people going nuts over how this won't live up to expectations might have the wrong end of the stick. I might actually get this now as it seems like a nice way to unwind after a crap day. No real objective, just see cool stuff by exploring with the odd bit of pew-pew.

It looks like the way content is rehashed is pretty limited which is disappointing. Apparently structures being the same type and even in the same location on different planets is noticeable. Dynamic content generators don't seem dynamic. Textures are hopefully a lot better than on ps4. The ai also seems fairly poor but not broken as such.

That is exactly what this game is :)

This seems like more of what i wanted when i bought Elite. That one is too hardcore for me, too much hassle and nothing is explined. I understand that as a draw, sure, but i play games to unwind like the chap says above. Could be good for that

Im torn between picking this up for PS4 and just laying out on the couch for playing this game, or holding off for the PC release.

I expect the game to look pretty much identical on the platforms, the livestream just shows horrific fov on the PS4 version, however this may not be so bad at distance on a big tv.

Decisions decisions
