No Man's Sky - Procedural space game

No reviews yet so who's going to break the silence? Though the user rating on Metacritic isn't too promising at the mo.

Metacritic got spammed by some transphobic lunatic who then proceeded to hurl some particularly unpleasant abuse at members of the dev team. Twitter shut him down pretty quick but apparently Metacritic are turning a blind eye.

Reading the metacritic reviews for this is rather interesting, The majority of the positive scores are 10. This is a favourite.
IGNORE THE BAD REVIEWS THEY ARE XBOX GAMERS.

THIS IS THE MOST GROUNDBREAKING GAME IN THE HISTORY OF VIDEOGAMES PERIOD!

I PLAYED FOR HOURS LAST NIGHT AND HAD TO FORCE MYSELF TO GO TO BED.

IGNORE THE SALTY XBOX AND COD KIDS.

The negative reviews (more balanced ones) claim that there's not too much to do other than exploration and mining. Also graphics seems to be a major issue, looks good but poor fov and frame rate, which hopefully the PC version will not have.

GoG could be better. DRM free and a 30 day no quibble returns policy I believe.

It's not a no quibble returns policy, if you can't get a game working or is filled with game-breaking bugs then they'll try to help and if that fails then you can ask for a refund.

From the site:

"If, within 30 days after the purchase of your game, you experience technical problems or game-breaking bugs that prevent you from finishing your game, contact our customer support. They will do their best to help you fix the problem and if, at the end of their attempts to solve the problem your game is still not working, we'll give you back your money."

I stand corrected! I've never needed to refund from them so wasn;t too sure!

Looks like the whole of the Hello Games office is playing!

Wow look at the price differences between countries. China gets it after conversion for £18... And a lot of countries are like around £20-30 ish. :(

Cd key sites should have cheap prices after launch i think (tho should be cheaper before launch really). Providing their not region locked.

No idea why key sites will invest resources in buying keys for goods that are cheaper on their actual platforms. I looked around the gray market for WoW game time and it was more expensive everywhere than on Battle.net itself.

That makes no sense! Why would you even bother wasting your resources.

Oh dear... Look what I found:

Polygon's first impression is mixed: http://www.polygon.com/features/2016/8/9/12408750/no-mans-sky-first-impressions-review-preview-10-hours

Regardless, even if it was a ringing endorsement I'm still going to wait a week or so after the PC release because it's not the type of game people are going to be able to evaluate in a day of playing imho. Also, it may give them time to fix any bugs or at least let us know of any game breaking ones.

Average salary in China is about £7k pa, in UK it is about £26k pa. It is not exactly comparing apples and oranges but sort of is :)
