No Man's Sky - Procedural space game

Pretty sure you can judge this within a day as all the gameplay you see within 24 hours will be exactly the same within a months gameplay time. Nothing new will show up, all you do for the whole game and it is as advertised is just mine and explore, nothing else will magically pop up a few days or weeks later that you dont see within the first day or so.

Personal opinion of course. Could be wrong but i really doubt it given the advertising of the game and seans vision of it basically a planet hopping only game where he wants you mainly to experience what its like to land on a alien world.

No idea why key sites will invest resources in buying keys for goods that are cheaper on their actual platforms. I looked around the gray market for WoW game time and it was more expensive everywhere than on Battle.net itself.

That makes no sense! Why would you even bother wasting your resources.

Key sites are usually cheaper because they're bought in foreign currency. There's been some changes in sterling FX rates recently ;)

Cheapest IS Steam as far as I can see. Even Kinguin and Instant Gaming are a few quid more.

Or unless you buy from brazil, mexico etc using a VPN.

I've just checked CJS CD Keys and they're charging £43.99. It's cheaper on Steam!

That pricing isn't aimed at the UK they don't take into account different currencies it's just a flat rate converted. For example I am mainland europe so it's 59.99€ on steam or 51.94€ on CJS therefore it would be cheaper for me but I want to be able to refund if needed!

That reminds me of the NASA space travel posters I downloaded earlier in the year which would look great on printed canvas.

Polygon's first impression is mixed: http://www.polygon.com/features/2016/8/9/12408750/no-mans-sky-first-impressions-review-preview-10-hours

Regardless, even if it was a ringing endorsement I'm still going to wait a week or so after the PC release because it's not the type of game people are going to be able to evaluate in a day of playing imho. Also, it may give them time to fix any bugs or at least let us know of any game breaking ones.

Average salary in China is about £7k pa, in UK it is about £26k pa. It is not exactly comparing apples and oranges but sort of is :)

The guy playing/reviewing that is obviously not playing right or was playing before the patch (he said he has played before the patch but everything in that interview is 100% about after the patch as a disclaimer) because he talks about inventory and having to mine every 5 mins like before the patch. Also you have to just mine a lot of stuff BEFORE you go exploring in caves etc so you don't have to go to the surface/looking for more.

If you ask me he played before the patch and had this ready written. He probably just added the bracketed disclaimer afterwards so he didn't have to start a write-up/game.

I'm not saying the game is good or bad but that review is sus. Better to wait for the full one.

£26 on Ebay so long as you don't mind them logging in to your account and adding the game manually or get a new account with only NMS activated in it. Apparently 124 people so far have taken up the offer! 12K positive feedback too.

Certainly don't give them access to your account...I'll wait for a steam/official store seller before considering this.
But by then I'm sure the hype will be gone and games like battlefield distracting me

Pretty sure it has combat (both in space and on foot), trading, survival and rpg elements in it too. Seen some of those features in the videos. Also heard the latest patch before release is introducing base building and a few other things too. Hardly just mining and exploring :P

I do understand people's trepidation about games, especially as gamers have been burnt a whole lot in the past few years (X-Rebirth springs to mind as a good example) but I think people are taking it a bit too far with No Mans Sky. It might well be rubbish but it could be really good too.

Base building is just talked about as something they are looking at for the future, but it's not in day 1 patch.

The concern is, there are already lots of alpha or early access games out there that do mining, gathering, building and generally have way more to do. If this really is just fly, mine, fly, mine etc then that's going to get real old real quick, 40quid is a lot for a game.

Personally I wouldn't suggest anyone goes anywhere near an offer like this. It's one of those games that will hold its value for quite a few weeks due to its hype. Do yourselves a favour and get it through Steam.

There's a refund system there if it doesn't float your boat within the first 2 hours remember. I don't think this game is for everyone.
