How do you upgrade your multi-tool with further upgrades?

I have done one, the Beam Focus Sigma, but dont appear to see any further upgrades/or where to install them? Is there nothing else to upgrade for the Multi-Tool?

You'll need a new multi-tool with more slots to upgrade further. You can buy them in some stations/outposts, sometimes get them from NPCs.

I'd got a replacement multitool at an outpost, after choosing the right option on the Gek who lived there. Had a few additional slots, although looks a bit organic/ugly...

Multitool upgrade blueprints are littered all over the place.

I've been reading about buying new ships.

Apparently all the ships you can currently buy are obviously slightly better than your current one.

Once you buy a new ship all the ships you can then buy are again....slightly better than the previous etc etc.

You can't hold onto the rubbish starter ship and save up for ages for a huge ship - you have to go up in increments!

Still not sure if I want a trader/fighter/explorer ship yet!

I know, it's getting a bit silly. I'd rather listen to people discussing the game tbh.

Meh, same old circlejerk with any big game release these days. You know they're getting close when the thread fills with memes.

Once the game's released it'll be mostly people talking about the game again. The NMS Reddit is actually worth having a look at now..

As far as I can tell, the only attribute a ship has is the number of slots, which you can then configure however you please.

However, this synergy business where complimentary modules placed next to each other get a boost, may mean that certain slot positions favour certain configurations, haven't really started looking into min-maxing yet :)

Nope that's rubbish, you just need to be able to afford the ships. If you go to a space station and wait around you can buy a ship off any of the NPCs. I still had my started ship but could have bought one with something like 30 slots if I had the cash, but it was about 3 million

I know for me personally the crashed ships are only slightly better.

I think the starter ship has 14 slots? I cannot remember; anyway I was in the Space Station and a 23 slot ship arrived , almost two million credits so I could not afford it (300,000 credits).

I'm on that forum more than here and it's usually fairly civilised. Dont get why this particular game has people so riled up with such a sense of ownership over a product. There's so many other games, if it's not for you, then move on the next one ...

Seen a few ships at space stations but how do you know what is trader/fighter/explorer?

must have seen 5-6 come and go but size wise they all looked the same.

You have to go talk to the pilot and compared.

The only difference functionally is the number of slots the ship has. You either leave them free for cargo, or put upgrades in them, up to you if you want a freighter or a fighter.

PC NMS forum thread has become an Olympic swimming pool of arguments over multiplayer and lying devs, at least we are talking about the game here, not the politics.

It will settle down, we just don't have the game yet :(

I for one will be playing the game and not posting about it tomorrow.

I am enjoying the game so far i have been spending to much time on planets trying to 100% the records... then i realized I would be playing the game for the rest of my life if I did this to every planet.

Has anyone managed to find a planet that someone else has discovered yet?
