No Man's Sky

They are the best planets. Usually the ones filled with Graviton Balls.

Took a while to get sorted out. Have my toxic gear, although it needs a lot of zinc to keep it powered. I was wandering around on the surface picking up the odd Graviton Ball, but picking one up instantly triggers an Elite sentinel attack :S

After exploring a bit more I tracked down the trading post. Had a mooch about and literally hit the motherlode. A huge cave network a few hundred metres from the trading post that is rammed full of Vector Cubes, tripping over them everywhere :D Picking them up in cave systems means no environmental stuff to deal with, and the sentinels don't bother you, perfect.

Going to rinse this cave system dry. The trading post is one of the big ones with lots of ships coming and going so I'm keeping my eye out for a beaut :)

Emeril is very very good, the planet I'm on has an absolute tonne of it everywhere. One stack will sell for about 200k, and the big blocks you get will easily give you two stacks once you've finished mining them.

It's why I've not warped yet, I'm planning on milking this planet dry, getting well over 10mill then buggering off in a pimping ship :D

Up to 26 slots on my exosuit now which is so handy, this planet is also full of drop pods so I'm getting lots of upgrades

Ah might have a tiny bit of Emeril actually, will look out for more but I think I need to concentrate on finding some more pods first for exosuit. Cheers

Nope, no renaming allowed. I have 'c' planet in my starting system. Idiotic decision to only allow one rename and not to have an 'are you sure' prompt. I pushed R2 thinking it would delete the character and it just finalizes it

Haha yeah it's annoying. At least once you know it you likely won't make same mistake twice! I bet so many players have wrongly named their first system though!

Or you could just shoot the asteroids and save damaging your ship

Haha, even better!

The first planet I landed on was toxic so hard to re-charge my suit every 20 minutes or so but it was covered in gold :D I noted the name of the planet but (possibly) stupidly not the system so hopefully the galatic map shows which systems you have been to so I can go back for more mining.

I have since warped to another planet, low atmosphere so I need to keep my life support but non-toxic which is nice. Sentinals are more of a pain in the behind, mine a couple of plants for Carbon or crystals for Plutonium and they come visiting. However, like the first planet, it is covered in huge towers of gold and I have found a trader who buys it at 1% above value :D More inventory is desperately needed though as I hate having to go back and sell it every 750 units.

A few more long walks and hopefully I can find some pods to extend suit inventory and then have enough credits for a shiney new ship.

Quickest way to find pods is just to fly the surface and keep scanning and dropping into the question marks.

You can normally see if it's the one you can upgrade suit before landing.

Found a few odd settlements last night, doors were smashed in and weird plant things which attack you inside. Both had a console covered in plant but after solving the puzzle it gave me things like cold resistance blueprints for my suit etc so I can go on ice planets

What is the Atlas route?

I vaguely remember something at the start where I could choose to follow it....

You will come across them again, keep an eye out for Anomalies when you scan a system, that's how I got back on the Atlas route....although I'm not really following it per se, it is useful to have the Atlas Pass v1

Thread needs more pics! Made a junk twitter account to post to.

Is that the toxic planet you mentioned earlier?

Looks identical (brown & sludgy) to the second planet I visited. Had to monitor toxic & life support constantly. Loads of Emirl in my case though. :)

Wish I could find some planets with rich resources.

Keep landing on planets with just tons of the same stuff as the last. Maybe Im just not exploring the planet deep enough, problem is I walk off from my ship and then realise Im very far away and its a slog to get back. Unless I'm lucky to see a ship request terminal.

Loving this so far, missed the whole Hyperdrive thing and couldn't understand why I couldn't find other planets when I just headed out into space with the pulse drive.... all sorted now though.

Only into my second system but some of the planets are just beautifful, upgraded my suit to 21 slots now but really could do with a bigger ship, need to get some money!!

Had my first visit by a space pirate and managed to fight him off, havent really done anything to the ship weapon wise though so, might need to look into that!

Also managed to find the blueprint for Antimatter which seems like it will be a help bbased on some off the comments I've seen!

Now you guys have been playing it a few days, how are you finding it?

Got it on PC but won't be able to play it til tomorra.

It's ok for me, I'm still not sold on it though. I'm trying to 100% my first planet and have been searching ages for the last two species but I just can't decide if it will have longevity for me personally. Now that it's likely there'll be no way of ever meeting anyone I know a few of my friends have refrained from buying it and if it keeps going more of the same grind grind grind and grind some more I doubt I'll put more than 30/40 hours into it, especially with Deus Ex coming out in 11 days.

Hopefully there's something new to do but I've not got there yet and I'm staying away from reviews and spoilers.

Best thing I would suggest is do a low fly over the planets surface. Pulse along the way to "ping" any obvious landmarks.

You can also spot large pockets of valuable material this way as well (Emirl for example is like a large bolder of gold and easy to spot). :)

Can't wait to explore the 6 new planets (4 & 2 moons) that await me in the new system.

That was the second planet I visited, where I found that ship. Still doing me ok for now. This is the toxic hellhole I'm on at the moment :

It's storms about 75% of the time, with just a few minute breaks. I'd just picked up a graviton ball so the 4 red indicators are sentinels after me, including one of the big ass walkers, they hurt

Up to 2 mil units now though. Looking forward to a ship upgrade :)

Planet you're on boring? Go to another one, that's the best part of the game, there's no shortage of places to check out.

I'm going to have a go at combat soon, get my ship kitted out for combat and go wreck stuff. Just been peacefully exploring so far.

Got my faction rep quite high with the Vy'Keen, but I'm on my first Gek system now and they're getting on my ****, going to lay waste to them :)
