No Man's Sky

Planet you're on boring? Go to another one, that's the best part of the game, there's no shortage of places to check out.

I'm going to have a go at combat soon, get my ship kitted out for combat and go wreck stuff. Just been peacefully exploring so far.

Got my faction rep quite high with the Vy'Keen, but I'm on my first Gek system now and they're getting on my ****, going to lay waste to them :)

Leave those little Gek Alone! I am friendly with them they never harmed anyone....

Just got attacked on my way to a space station, fortunately had enough resources to power up my shield three times whilst destroying the two ships. going to go to a few more planets in my system and then warp to next one. Hopefully start finding more types of resources and a decent ship wreck to take.

Best thing I would suggest is do a low fly over the planets surface. Pulse along the way to "ping" any obvious landmarks.

You can also spot large pockets of valuable material this way as well (Emirl for example is like a large bolder of gold and easy to spot). :)

Can't wait to explore the 6 new planets (4 & 2 moons) that await me in the new system.

Thanks, I've actually just come across a potential gold mine planet, it's got extremely high toxic levels and sentinel levels and a quick scope I found some calcium plants which were fairly valuable and them gold balls that attract unwanted attention.

One question.

How do you lose wanted levels, is it a case of just escaping the area and it resets?

I got attacked by pirates and I read it was quite easy to deal with them, but I found it extremely hard to target any of them and ended up being killed.

I was using the starter ship mind, perhaps I had no shield?

Yeah just run away on foot or on ship, they lose interest and you can go back

Quickest way to find pods is just to fly the surface and keep scanning and dropping into the question marks.

You can normally see if it's the one you can upgrade suit before landing.

Found a few odd settlements last night, doors were smashed in and weird plant things which attack you inside. Both had a console covered in plant but after solving the puzzle it gave me things like cold resistance blueprints for my suit etc so I can go on ice planets

That is how I have found some of the pods but the planet is covered in towers of gold. So I will be mining as I walk around as I can sell the gold for a nice new ship :)

Though I really need to stop reading this thread at work, especially as I wont be on tonight and I doubt much over the weekend either :(

Anyone found a building under water that you can enter? All the ones if found don't have door?

I found one underwater that had that weird organism infesting it where the door was open and I could go inside and activate the computer. All the others have been sealed up though.

As above, door was already smashed in on the underwater building I found.
Really searching for a watery planet, and will upgrade my suit accordingly for more time underwater. It's good down there.

I very, very much doubt it. Increasing FOV not only adds more polygons to draw but also adds more for the procgen algorithms to generate on the fly, there's a reason it's so narrow.

I'm hoping there's a Neo version with an increased FOV option though.

Oh man I loved this game for the first 10 hours and now I'm finding it incredibly boring, there is literally nothing new and nothing different to do.
