No more btjunkie :-(

I came into this thread fully expecting the forum member btjunkie to be dead. Then reading the op I briefly believed it was some sort of loving eulogy about turning off his life support before my brain actually registered what I was reading.

Should point out that I'm not actually mad despite what the emoticon suggests, obviously its a good thing no one has died and its just some retro pirating service going down the toilet instead.

Edit - it would seem there isn't even a member called btjunkie... Who the hell am I thinking of then?

I did as well . I'm also pretty sure I have seen that name around the forums. It might be slightly different though.

EDIT: gt_junky is who we were thinking of :D

This is what I find funny about the NZB Elitists. Other than the constant speed, there really is NO benefit over Torrents.

big whup. You still use it for the same end result right? Again elitists are funny.

There is, though, isn't there.

Constant, maxed connection.
SSL Encryption.
Huge retention.

Doesn't require other people to be seeding - more likely to get stuff that's old or obscure.

I'm pretty bad at analogies, but I'm fairly sure there's no fundamental difference between a Ferrari Enzo and a Fiat Panda. God damned elitists.

Piracy is nothing but rebellion.

Is it?

I download movies often. I wouldn't pay to go and watch them, but the fact that I can download them for free and watch them on my mobile during the daily commute appeals. The studios have lost nothing because I would never have paid in the first place.

I download TV shows every week. I like the fact that I can download an entire Season of a new show from the US and just plough through it.

I don't do it to rebel, I do it because it's free, it's convenient and I can.
