How long do you think we'll have to wait for the Classifieds and Matrix cards ?

Last time we had to wait for 4 months for 980 Ti Matrix.

If you are going to wait that long, might as well wait a few months longer and get a Vega/Big Pascal. It is then we will likely see 14/16nm shine anyway ;)

Makes sense apart from the fact there will likely be a similar delay between reference and custom so at that point you could just wait again for the 11 series.

Anyone else utterly fed up with these BS nda's covering every aspect of launches? Now it even affects when we can see the price for the card despite the price being mentioned in the reviews and the launch event.

I thought the price had been released?

"Given that both GPUs are $50 more than their predecessor's launch price, with the GTX 980 sitting at £429 and 970 at £259, we expect the UK price for the latest Pascal GPUs to be around £449 for the GTX 1080 and £289 for the GTX 1070 and £339 for the GTX 1070 Founder Edition - making them affordable GPUs given their prospective speed gains - read on to find out about their performance."

Not too bad. A bit more than last gen but...Nvdia so. what ya gonna do.

Unfortunately its Nvidia. So add £200 to those projected prices.

Wonder if there will be "short supply" of these cards, something etailers love as they have the latex gloves snapped on when setting the price.

The 11 series will probably be coming out in 2018 though. Also is the 11 series going to be on 10nm? Would be cool but I highly doubt it. Hence my assumption that the biggest boost will come with Vega/Big Pascal.

Could be wrong and they just try and drip drip a lot.

But I don't think AMD can afford to play that game with Vega. If they do not try to get the most performance out of 14nm to take the crown from nvidia, then they may lose even more market share as people start seeing more and more as irrelevant.

Given it's pre-orders this should massively restrict the milking.

In theory today all retailers will be able to handle an unlimited number of pre-orders so all retailers will be competing for 1080 pre-orders.

Compare that to the marketing nda lifting at the exact same time as the on sale time and anyone with stock will be charging silly money.

"A Kotaku Australia reader has sent in a quote from a local retailer quoting the price of a Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1080 8GB at a staggering $1,299 excluding shipping. The figure was apparently published by accident and picked up by Google Cache, although the listing has since been taken down from the main website."

http://www.kotaku.com.au/2016/05/and-the-first-nvidia-geforce-gtx-1080-price-is-a-lot/

$1,299 AUD = £650. But Australian VAT is 10%.
10% = $129 AUD = £64.
So add £64 to get to 20% tax = £714 LOL

This is going to be fun.....
