No Stubble at work.

So why no designer stubble? I don't mean urban styles neither i mean male model styles. It's still a BS policy, just how pretentious do Morrisons wanna get?

Also why allow broom handle moustaches? They look disgusting. My ffpp manager has a great big dirty moustache, it's revolting.

Is that the problem, you dislike your manager especially his facial hair .......

Probems with authority much especially of the brown kind ?

OP- The company Dress code states, Black or Dark Trousers, Clean, ironed shirt or chefs top if on fresh food department. Black or dark brown SAFETY boots/shoes, Clean shaven, no visible piercings (if visible they must be covered with blue plaster), no jewelry except weddings band.

So your manager is not being a douche, he is following company procedure and so should you.

Its all in the company Hand book and is clearly written and not vague at any point.

Edit: You can grow a beard but it has to be on your own time, not the companys' time. eg whilst you're on holiday or have a more than a few days off at on go. If you still have issues please talk to your SPM.

He was being a douche as his moustache is never neatly trimmed. Completely hypocritical...

there you go, just grow it out of work hours , if they say anything just say you grew it outside of work, lol.

such a stupid rule.

Ahh, but when you come back, you've got a lovely groomed beard and your skin has healed and the inflammation and redness has gone, they then tell you to buy some razors and go shave it off. I would walk, in fact I did. Sick of the beard nazis.

Deal with it or find a new job, they're your options.
You signed the contract if you didn't like the terms you shouldn't have signed it.
Luckily the only job I've done where I've had to shave was because it was that or the BA kit wouldn't do a very good job of keeping me alive.

This is what I had to do in the end. My skin was terrible, it was painful, looked horrible, destroyed my self esteem and led to depression, but as long as I was clean shaven my employer was happy.

My doctor suggested I grow my facial hair, so I did and it worked. After years of suffering I started to gain confidence and even my performance at work improved as a result. Manager didn't like the facial hair, so I had to leave. Where's the logic in that, it was damn stupid and the store "policy" almost led in a way to a suicide attempt as it was one of the lowest points of my life when I had awful skin.

Although my face is now covered in horrible scars. Cheers tradition!

It's a crap rule because as you say some people really suffer, I'm the same which is why I've always avoided being clean shaven if possible. That and I look ******* awful clean shaven, but if you sign up to the rules then you don't have a lot of choice.

I'd keep it what can they do? Sack you? Ok then do them in a tribunal for unfair dismissle with a side of human rights infringement ooo and for fun a breach of equal oportunities (if one can have a tash one is most certainly allowed stuble)

You were in the forces iirc? The last time I checked a full on tash you can get away with but stubble would get you a telling off.

I work in an office and I've been clean shaven since the 1990's and have never been asked to shave. I didn't think stubble could be such an issue!.

There are two transvestites who work in my local Morrison's dressed as women, one in particular just looks like a bloke in a dress, i will check out the stubble situation the next time i pick up some chicken :D

Yes, because nothing says ADULT like a soft clean smooth baby face :p

I can't stand being clean shaven.

I do whatever the guy in the next office to mine does (he's the uk ops director). He currently can't be arsed to shave (his words), so it's a facial hair free for all at the moment at least. I work in a professional environment, too. Nobody cares.

Did you ask for some kind of doctors note to show to your manager?

Had this at a place I used to work, the rules were basically:

Have a beard/tache or don't. Grow it in your own time, not while in work.

Got to agree here, not had a clean shaven face since I was about 15/16. I am 25 now ....

Never stopped me getting an "alright" job.

I used to clean shave until 2yrs ago, now I'm 25 cannot be bothered with shaving, I hate it.

As I sad man has stubble dealwithit.jpg.

Always these stupid low end jobs too complaining about it because managers are morons with nothing better on their hands.

Have a look in the staff handbook and see if it is mentioned in there. If it's not mentioned there is not a lot they can do about it. Oh and use the USDAW rep f you are in the union or ask their advice if it's enforceable.

I look like a thug when I'm clean shaven and it irritates my skin, therefore I maintain it at a grade 2 stubble - looks fine and never been a problem
