North Korea

How bad actually are living conditions in NK, nobody seems to know. Are the people generally oppressed and starving, sent to concentration camps and executed etc?

Trump weakens the US's military alliance with South Korea in exchange for a declaration with no firm commitments or deadlines - the exact sort that North Korea has reneged on repeatedly - and his supporters are beaming with pride for some reason. Why? Because he was able to shake someone's hand and sign a piece of paper without soiling himself or falling over?

Explain what the world’s most powerful military has to gain from the alliance or fear without it? I think the degree that the deal has weakened the alliance will be minimal.

What’s Trump got so far? Some prisoners back? Since then he’s said he’ll stop the military exercises and got nothing substantial in return? The statement is meaningless/adds nothing of substance to what has been said before?

Yes I'm sure Donald Trump came out of that meeting with a bad deal, someone who authored a book called "The Art of the Deal", and is a Billionaire President of the United States

The modest and quiet billionaire entrepreneurs on this forum so eager to give their professional opinions on a United States of America's President's financial acumen are appreciated, it will be interesting to hear of their own staggering capital assets and business adventures, for better or worse, when they feel able to lift this veil of modesty ;)

Trump comes across as an idiot, I just pray he isn’t and actually is doing something - by his own unique “style” - that no sitting leader has done for decades i.e. by throwing protocol and “the done thing” out of the window, maybe just maybe he’s going to achieve something.....

Although looking at Kim’s body language I couldn’t help seeing a man with “WTF???” written all over his face.

Either Trumps playing a blinder or Kim has seen straight through him and is out for all he can get.
I suspect the latter.

Thats exactly my thoughts I'm praying for the best but genuinely think its going to turn out that Trump is as stupid as the media make out.

Nor sure if serious? If you are, over the course of the summit what did he give up and what did he get?

We don't know the details of what they spoke about, we know about a piece of paper they both signed. I'm fairly sure he knows what he's doing though consider how uncompromising he is when it comes to making deals.

I was thinking more of the casual undermining of a long-term ally for the sake of a photo opportunity and looking like an important person.

Ah yes, what could a publicity obsessed psycho possible have gotten out of this piece of political theatre? It must be a substantial concession on North Korea's part. Definitely.

Well if he wrote a book......I really should finish my literary trilogy: book 1 "smarter than the rest of you" book 2 "damn! i smell fantastic!" And the conclusion of my magnus opus "Nah you heard right, I said 15 inches"
