Nostalrius Begins - Vanilla WoW

Oh my when I think of my old wow days it's killing those trolls for the Whirlwind Axe one sunday night after I put the kids to bed. Oh the memories.

That's the problem on this server as it seems to be even busier at those times since it has a large US population on top of the EU one.

Very impressed with this server. Played about an hour or so and there's people everywhere! Checked the population using 'Who' and it seems to be around 4500/5000 which is nice. Lots of people speaking English too which is a plus.

Installed it last night and it runs surprisingly fine on my MAC.
I was going to play Horde but my girlfriend decided she wanted to play and thinks the Horde are all too ugly (poor Horde) so I'm Alliance.

Mitsuhiro in game (Warrior tank).

What's the difference in putting 200 hours into Skyrim? It's a game to pass the time and have fun with.

Well i would like to play it and grind it out without the fear of just losing my character at a random interval is all. It was merely a question incase anybody knew what it was like for resets. Ignore the 'i'd' and such, its predictive text from my phone lol.

Ahhh, sorry, didn't mean to sound like I was jumping on you :)

In my view, 10 years ago, I'd not have risked it. But at my current age and stature on gaming. It's an escape for me. So if my char gets deleted in a year from now. Sure, I'll be bummed, but I'd have spent many, many, many evenings relaxed, having fun and switching off. Which is ultimately, why I do it :)

So, personally, for me, the doom and gloom of a possible 'wipe' really isn't that impacting as it might be to others.

I signed up for this due to everyone talking about it - great fun :) Proper nostalgia trip, worth it for that alone!

The joy of 2H weapon with low skills...*Miss* *Miss* *Dodge*

I'm not lv10 on my rogue yet, not looking forward to dual wielding

Miss Miss Dodge is all i'm seeing at the moment!

Level 39 Orc Shaman now called Dappadon.

Staying at 39 as I don't have 100g for my mount yet :P

Lost interest.

Vanilla WoW = Vast open world where you will bump into friends and enemies anywhere at any time, a true adventure

Post Vanilla WoW = Central lobby system where everyone stands around an NPC all day

Read up on this, TBC will be a seperate server and the Vanilla one will be left untouched.

They are also opening a Vanilla PVE server soon, so you can play on there if you don't fancy PVP

Soooo, I forgot how tedious question is... It's driving me insane, trying to work out locations for stuff. I've tried multiple quest helper addons, but all are very basic and cack, just clutter up the minimap/map.

I remember I had one that had an arrow and worked out the best quests to do in what order.

anges,

grab this;

A tiny bit buggy, but overall works well. This will list your quests in order relevant to your location and if you select the quest it will put the arrow on your screen. Be aware! The arrow sometimes takes you back to the Quest Giver rather than the objective!

But the marks it puts on the minimap helps loads and if you mouseover a mob it will tell you how many you need and wether it's a quest item etc.

I had questie, it flooded my minimap with icons, as well as my main map. It drove me insane.

Anyway to remove that?

Is there an add-on for Vanilla WoW (1.12.1) that shows your debuffs etc. on enemy health plates? I used to have an add-on in WotLK for it but can't remember what it was called as it's been years since i've played it.

People complaining about WoW being dumbed down. I remember when i first played WoW after playing other MMO's EQ etc, it was dead dead easy the death penalty was a laugh. I thought these WoW kids dont know how good they have it :)

How has this thread survived?

WoW vanilla was a blast but sadly I lost interest when TBC came out. Played it now and again since then but nothing like I used to.
