Not much excitement for RDNA3, compared to the RTX 4000 series

New 7000 series AMD cards will have this same connector too... So we have yet to see if they have any fireworks at the connector end.

I hope AMD give this a wide birth because there is a chance that anything with this connector could get pulled off the shelves.

Jay says amd is using the same connector but how would he know reviewers don't have any new cards yet

It's the new standard from now that's why AMD is going to be using it too, last gen it wasn't the standard and Nvidia made their own version of it while the standard was being passed and only the 3090ti really has the official standard connector with all the pins 12+4, cards before had the 12pin part but were missing the sense pins the +4.

But if this was AMD, do we think the rest of the internet would have been silent on it?
it's one guy out of how many hundreds of thousands of cards sold? and he had the adapter bent to the side so one of the pins probably didn't have enough contact

Oh he bent the cable slightly..... its his fault, nothing at all wrong with the design, even if bending the cable is not something i worry about with my old good for nothing 8 + 6 pin.

It's not just one, just the first to go viral. There is another 5 people who responded to that Reddit post with pictures of their 4090 adaptor also melted. 80% of people just return the card to the shop they bought from, 10% return it and browse the internet and 10% post about their issues all over the internet
