I mean if you're going to believe God sends down earthquakes at will, at least spend some time working out the actual cause and effect of events. But then again the concept of God is illogical in itself, therefore it's no surprise believers in God have difficulty applying logic to other situations.

I would say it is a bit backwards labelling a whole country on the comments of one person. Doesn't surprise me people try to focus on what a minor official said and not the actual charges but not everyone can be intelligent so its understandable...

probably quite effectively, it isn't like they need any training etc.. the punishment itself should rehabilitate them in so far as they're very unlikely to go back and take naked photos on that mountain again... they're not habitual criminals but they perhaps needed to learn a lesson about respecting other cultures when traveling and I'd suggest that that lesson will have been learned rather quickly

Sometimes it is easy to get caught up in a moment and get a bit carried away with what you think is a 'good' idea. The reality here was what these people did was never actually going to cause danger or harm to anyone, unless you had a dodgy ticker or high blood pressure issues! It was right for the travellers to have some form of punishment for being so disrespectful, especially to the guide, but the whole situation has been blown out of proportion far too much.

Amp34 you highlight a very valid point there. So many people associate nudity to be something sexual. Every other species on the planet must go through hell and back if that is the case. From various comments I've read across articles there are numerous people calling the travellers perverts. These people just make themselves look like idiots as it clearly shows they do not understand the meaning of the word in the context they are using it. There is nothing perverse about being naked at all.
