Nurburgring - German Grand Prix 2009 - Race 9/17

I don't think it was too aggressive. It was obvious he couldn't see where the Brawn was until he touched it.

Forgot to say earlier, got a bit annoyed with DC's over Redbull bias opinions during the race. I know he still works for them but he wasn't very impartial as he's been previously. Every time he was asked anything, he always brought Redbull up... reminded me of Yes Man a bit :) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4h6iCn0301M)

Cant help but think that he was right though, Red Bull did get another 1-2 ;)

that is so, but he still didn't deserve it. Yet again fia handing out stupid punishments. Just look at his front tyres sliding autocross the track. Nothing he could do about that. Nothing more than a racing incident.

Are you saying webber was sliding across the track? He suddenly swerved over to his right, aggressively and had been heading that side slowly already, made one covering move then bam.

He did well, but more utter crap strategy today by Brawn. Why they either didn't short fuel him to get him ahead of Massa, or go really long and give him track to race in. He lost what, 10-15 laps stuck behind a guy going realistically 1-2seconds a lap slower than he should have been, wiping out the drive through penalty. AFter that he realised he was done for the win and never seemed to get race pace.

Brawn then screwed up again, Button found pace, was clearly a second or more a lap faster than Rubens, yet he was stuck behind Rubens for 10 laps or so, which had they let the much faster Button through(and put him on hard tyres for the final stint) he would probably have come out ahead of Rossberg and with the pace before the tyres went, would have been challenging Massa most likely. But again Brawn just left someone out behind a slow car for no apparent reason.

THe one thing you can't do this season is be stuck behind a car you can't pass because pace drops so badly. Clear air, race pace and see how it all comes together at the end, getting stuck behind people for any length of time ruins the race.

I didn't see a decent replay either did Webber move across and clip Hamilton's tyre, or did Hamilton move across, seems that with his aggressive ramming of Rubens then a slight dink across to scare Hamilton he got very lucky. Had hamilton stuck that corner without a puncture, well, Kers cars are might hard to pass, would have been very interesting indeed.

Oh dear poor Rubins has just gave Braun a reason to have Jenson as a number 1 choice for the rest of the season.

Rubens Barrichello has launched an incredible rant against his Brawn team, accusing them of 'making me losing the race', that will surely put his career with the team in severe doubt.

In an outburst that plunged to new depths in self pity, Barrichello accused the team of throwing away victory in Sunday's German GP. Remarkably, Barrichello made the accusations without speaking to the team before he questioned his team's competence to the BBC.

Asked 'where it had gone wrong' for him, Barrichello replied: "Our strategy from the pitwall. The team have shown how to lose a race. I am terribly upset.

"I did all I could but they made me lose the race basically. I feel sorry for myself.

"To be honest, I wish I could just go straight on the plane and go home. I don't want to talk to anyone in the team because I don't want to understand. All it will be from them is 'blah, blah blah'."

"I'm not saying they are favouring anyone, all I'm saying is that they have given a good show in how to lose."

You're a bit behind the times there, this was discussed a few pages back as the interview was given straight after the race.
Ross Brawn defused the situation by saying that he could see why Rubens was upset but also that Rubens didn't have all the facts (about the faulty fuel rig etc) at the time and that his rant was therefore understandable.

This, plus it's on the main pages of the BBC Sports F1 website :)

He knew exactly where the Brawn was. He attacked him like so many of these chumps do and use the car as a weapon. He expected Rubens to budge over as they normally do and end up with a wheel on the grass. Fair play to Rubens he held his line and Webber was given a fair penalty. Sooner or later that sort of move webber pulled will end in a huge accident.

What I dont get is why this race? Why all of a sudden crack down on that sort of move. Schumacher got away with it race in race out.

You should never move over on another driver like that so the other driver has to take avoiding action to stop an accident. Just a slow drop in standards over the years in F1 overtaking. Very few of them can actually do it cleanly without banging or forcing a driver to run out of track.

The cars and braking zone being so small doesn't help either.

When did Michael Schumacher ever cause an unavoidable accident off the start? I don't remember that happening tbh.

Webber 'didn't see' Barrichello at start

He knew exactly where the Brawn was.
Aint that the truth:

If he can't see the car in front of him what on earth is he doing in F1
