Nvidia 30X0 series waterblocks

Hope you don't get the generic "duty costs, and administration costs for processing your item through customs" BS reply
Probably will judging by the text i just found on their website.

It’ll be nothing more than just UK duty charges, the same charges you get when declaring goods when you pass immigration/border control.

Blocks arrived finally! At my neighbors house, can't wait to get home and see it!

I checked that block out. Looks sick.

Is it nickel-plated copper or another version?

I was close to getting a Heatkiller block for the 2080 Ti.

I've heard good things.

For some reason I've never ended up getting one.

That PC! It's not even it's final form!

You have to have patience waiting for PC parts nowadays and I just can't wait.

That block you currently have has served you pretty well hasn't it?

Didn't you get that setup for the 3090 before literally anyone in the UK had a card?

Good luck on the refit!

About time! You may have paid over the odds because of the border shenanigans but it is at least a very weighty and well built block! You'll still feel like you've gotten your moneys worth, promise!

Reading the last few posts, is it possible that I will end up paying vat twice on the 3090fe block from EK? Once at checkout and again when it is delivered?

From what I was told, no this should not happen. If you pay VAT at checkout it is because you are buying within the EU (for trading purposes, Northern Ireland for example is still part of the EU single market). UK mainland customers however do not pay VAT at checkout but will need to when goods enter UK.

This is my understanding of it from talking to HMRC.

I opted for the Nickel Plated version with the Acrylic top and Black aluminium frame. Should match nicely with the rest of the setup. Also got a XSPC Raystorm EDGE to replace the faulty Alphacool XPX block coming from OCUK :D

Yeah same, a few people have it already over on overclock.net forum and it looks fantastic and performs equally as well as it looks. Can't wait to test it out and do a comparison with the Alphacool block i have now.

So much more to do, so many little tweaks yet! Taking a day off tomorrow so i can tinker lol.

The current block is okay, it sits the temp around 50-51c currently as i've got the heating on every night with it being so cold. I've seen better blocks perform much better though so hoping for similar or better results with mine being in separate loops.
Not sure if i was the first but would have been pretty close to first i think, i blocked the card within 2 weeks of launch lol and was lucky enough to get the card at launch as well.

It is haha, i checked the shipping details and its nearly 2kg! It's definitely a hefty thing. Just need to make sure my current mount can support it as the alphacool block is more acrylic than metal. Getting the DSLR out later for some photos :D

Duty is usually quite a low figure, my assumption when reading your first post was around £10 for the courier service fee (********) and £40 tax, as you've paid around £200 and £40 is 20% of that it sounds an awful lot like VAT to me.

Best thing to do, ask Fedex for an invoice so you can see what you actually paid for or just ask them directly for the break down, might be a waste of time sure but I'd want to know in your shoes for future reference either way.

That's correct, courier fee was more around £15ish.

True, i've emailed this morning about it but still no reply. Will see if i get a reply tomorrow morning, if not i'll email again. Think i could claim it back if indeed i ended paying VAT twice?! Seems abit mad and messed up atm.

My recent order from EK for £273. DHL charged £65 in total (around 24-25%). £0.65 was Duty, £11 was 'Payment Deferment Risk' , £53.79 was VAT.

Enough depressing talk about the cost of hardware and getting fingered recently with all these charges...

Unboxed and installed the Heatkiller V block finally :), mega happy with it. Not tested the temps yet but idles around 26c with a room temp of around 22c, will do some game testing later for a comparison with the Alphacool block. The light distribution inside the block is insane, its very well lit and hits just the right spots around the channels of the flow. Highly recommend this block to anyone looking for one now.

Warning PIC HEAVY

Keen to see temps, my alpha cool isn't due to ship till the 12th. What made you change gpu block? @Jay85

O/T, liked the other colour scheme better!
Just done a quick 10 minute play on Cyberpunk 2077 and honestly it performed better but not by munch. I saw around 2-3c improvement with the same room temp around 22.5c. Sitting around 47-48c now compared to 50-51c on the alphacool block. Will have to do another test with Liquid metal but am abit worried about it running onto the pcb! Will have to get the nail varnish out lol.

Thanks for that. I just checked again and wasn't charged vat on EK's end.

Cool. Why the change?

Any night shots of it lit?

Sorry, I am sure this has been previously discussed.

It looks like a reference PCB you are using. What card is it exactly?

Also, what Bios and settings on the OC (if using) are you running?

I am on a Palit 3090 Gaming Pro OC at 104% power limit (365W) at +120 on the core and currently 0 change on the memory.

I get a sudden rise up to 45C when under load and then a slow and steady rise (over about 30 mins) up to pretty much always 55c and it stays there.

Nice work on the build again! The things we do for improvements of any kind!

I bet that is still not it's final form ha!

Wanted a more suitable block for the build, was never that fond of the full acrylic blocks. This block is perfect :). I was making a short B roll last night but unfortunately forgot i hadn't go the license for the software yet! Will get one setup today and post it up here.

It's the same card as yours but not the OC version. I'm using the day 1 bios still as i never got round to updating it since i blocked it within 2 weeks of ownership. I've currently got it set around +150 core and +450mem daily use. Had it upto +195 core and +850 for benchmarks but its purely benchmarking.

Mine rises upto 42c then slowly creeps upto 48c at a room temp of 22c. On a colder day like today when room temps are around 20c it will stay around 46-47c with fans on around 1400rpm. Can't really compare though as im on a dual loop system so i have a dedicated rad for the gpu and cpu.
