Nvidia 30X0 series waterblocks

Yes all my recent blocks from EK including ones few weeks back came with Ecotherm, had opened tube of thermal grizzly so just used that.

Will be interesting to see now left EU what the total price of the 3090 Block will be in hand. £270 for block as is from site, then add VAT when it lands in UK and handling fees, think it will total around £340 ish all said and done. So nearly a 3060Ti GPU :p:o

Wondering this myself, especially after buying two of them last night.

And the conversion from EUR338.22 for each block is more like £299 at current FX. The blocks are not £270 each. Plus EK kindly charge EUR47.50 for delivery!

I've looked at various calculators to try to get an estimate but I don't think I will know for sure until DHL contact me prior to delivery. I'm in too deep with my build to turn back now put it that way!

Dunno what you mean. the blocks are 277.23 Euros a piece. I paid for the extra DHL shipping at 25.90 Euros for a total of 303.13 Euros for block + upgraded shipping I was invoiced. I was charged £281.60 when converted yesterday when it hit my account. Take away a £10 as I paid for upgraded delivery and assuming basic delivery it would be around £270 I quoted.

If you paid 338.22 euros a block, you got ripped off somehow. Link I posted on last page going through to block still shows 277.23 euros for each block.

As for the additional charge, the charge is currently £11.00 or 2.5% of the total Duty and/or VAT incurred for DHL. So VAT + £11 or 2.5% of item hence my price I mentioned being near RTX 3060Ti.

Were you logged into an EK account when you purchased, there is an issue with the EK site doubling up tax (as all prices on their website already account for VAT) when you aren't logged in so I would contact them cancel and reorder.

Here's what I paid , will obviously be subject to Import VAT.

You would not need to pay tax as we not in EU any longer. On orders I placed prior to Jan 1st 2021, my most recent one being end of November 2020, I did have a tax charge. However this order for the block, tax is no longer applied as we not in EU. See page: https://www.ekwb.com/shop/payment#:~:text=All prices in EKWB web,all Slovenian and EU customers.&text=B2B customers, choosing to pay, order during the checkout process.

Pricing
All prices in EKWB web shop include 22% Slovenian VAT (value-added tax) that is applicable for all Slovenian and EU customers.
All other international customers will be invoiced the price without VAT.
International B2B customers from EU with a valid VATIN (value-added tax identification number) don’t need to pay the VAT, if a valid VATIN is provided.
All prices in EKWB web shop exclude shipping costs which are payable separately after the delivery address is determined.
B2B customers, choosing to pay the invoice through PayPal, will be charged additional 1,9% PayPal processing fee on the 'Grand Total' value of their order during the checkout process.

You should not have been hit with tax now and would touch base with EK.

Cheers, I will contact them. I was not logged in when I added them to my basket but logged in during checkout process.

I don't want to cancel the order if possible, in case there is a queue of any kind. I wouldn't want to drop to the bottom.

Thanks for this, I am going to drop them a message to point out the issue.

Yep you've definitely been hit with the same bug, I noticed it a few weeks back and did flag it to support but noticed it fixed itself when I logged in from the start.

Here's my other order which is about to be shipped and you can clearly see you've paid vat twice on some of your items like cryofuel price diff.

Thanks. I am sure they will rectify it - I have spent more than EUR 2000 with them in the last 6 months - they would need to!

Imo when you're paying £281.60 for a GPU block you are being ripped off anyway, and with your eyes wide open. I would never pay that much for a single water cooling component!

Good for you? I think the point was rather he is paying above msrp. The relative merits of whether you think something is worth the price paid is irrelevant.

Indeed expensive, but was in context of the diffrence price which we paid and become evident later on why. Shrug, up to you what you would / would not pay, all going to vary from person to person :)

Correct :)

Good that we compared and further had the various messages around it, as now Quare Crack can claim back a decent amount of money!

So EK got back to me a short time ago but I have since been on the phone to HMRC for over an hour while someone tried to get me a definitive answer. An hour for the 'experts' to come up with an answer.

Response from EK:
Northern Ireland will effectively remain within the EU's single market for goods. Thus, regardless of Brexit, taxes will still be applied for all orders imported from the EU to Northern Ireland. You can read more about it on the following link: https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-northern-ireland-55488686.

Should you have any further questions, you're always welcome to reach out again at any time. I suggest also contacting your nearest customs office for more information on the matter.

Answer from HMRC:
Slovenia is part of the Single Market so it was right that they charged VAT and you will not need to pay any additional VAT when goods arrive in Northern Ireland.

I asked if customers from UK mainland who ordered the same product but did not pay VAT to Slovenia would need to pay VAT when the order arrives in Britain.

Answer from HMRC:
Yes, they will most likely have to pay VAT.

All in all, an expensive purchase and unfortunately no way for me to get any of the VAT back but hopefully this information helps anyone else from Northern Ireland or UK Mainland who is buying parts from EU.

Ah your in Northern island? was curious how it would work there. Not clearly it seems :(

Yeah we would pay VAT, the 20% when it comes in which is what I mentioned in my initial post. paid £280 (270 with normal post) for block as is from EK, mentioned £340 total price. So 270 + VAT = £324 + mail fees they all charging takes it to around £340.

That said, I would imagine you will not need to pay UK VAT like we would on mainland on top so largely balances out? Though not caught up on how it works in NI.

Sorry I didn't mention Northern Ireland before. If it took them an hour to figure out, how are the rest of us supposed to??

Well EUR 338 was inclusive of VAT so potentially I'll have paid around £300 depending on FX (per block only exc. shipping) so slightly better than mainland UK. When it all arrives I'll know for sure!

Yh that will be why you shouldn't get hit with VAT again on import as you have already paid VAT. Whereas we will.

EK blocks up for pre-order for 3090.Just ordered mine.

just on topic of the 3090FE EK block, seems it took some time as they done a hybrid sort of approach to get the backplate cooler. So not fully active but should see a slight reduction to backplate temps which may aid the VRMs on the rear. Possibly why it took much longer then other blocks. Will be interesting to see how effective it works.

Hybrid Backplate
This water block comes with an included backplate that makes sure the entire graphics card is enclosed and not at all visible. The aluminum CNC-machined backplate has a ribbed texture in order to increase surface area for additional passive cooling power. The "active" cooling part is achieved through a section of the backplate contacting the coldplate, which is then directly cooled by the liquid. The Black variant of this Special Edition water block has a natural anodized aluminum backplate.

I am a bit disappointed they didn’t implement a fully active solution to be honest, especially as this is their flagship model. Though, I wouldn’t have even paid attention to it had they not announced active blocks for reference and Strix designs. After seeing it can be done, I feel a little cheated I guess!

With the stock configuration, I cannot push memory overclock over 1100 without instability and GPU-Z shows PerfCapreason as Thermal at pretty much anything other than stock memory configuration. Card temp never gets above 51 - even while mining - though admittedly in that scenario I have reduced the clocks and power limit - so since there is no available temperature information for the memory, I assume that is the bottleneck.

Cooling the memory on the back of the PCB is essential so anything that helps, hybrid or active is welcome.

Yh bit annoying but hopefully the contact with the coldplate gives enough cooling.

Separately quick one but how did you get such a quick response from EK support, was it through their ticket system, still waiting for them to come back to me on my order!
