NVIDIA 4000 Series

No 4090Ti and straight to Ada Titan?

With AMD not being near the 4090, anyone think the big chunky boi (phots doing the rounds) will be named the Ada Titan? Purely to see what price nvidia can get for it so they can price the 5*** cards even higher?

I think Nvidia do a titan not for anything other than pushing prices up even more, testing the waters to see waht people will bite at.

Even though I won’t be able to afford it, I would love to see another Titan!

Like you say, Nvidia have no competition at the top end so they can pretty much do whatever they want. They always have. The Titan Z was incredibly expensive years ago, that was something like £2500 back in 2014!

The Titan won't do anything the 4090 Ti can't minus have more memory capacity.

Based on history, that won't be the case.

Just remember that the Titan will be and will only be a reference 4090 PCB design sold by Nvidia. As good as that is at stock, it will be power limited, as were all the previous Titans. That's why on this forum, almost everyone on the 3D Mark leader-board used custom bios PL and the top scores used a hard-mod.

Therefore, if the core counts are identical (as rumoured), the extra memory capacity will just slow the Titan down, the PCB won't be up to it under water, the BIOS will need flashing and you'll need a soldering iron. You are looking at two grands worth of invalidated warranty :)

The Titan z cost like $3000, was downclocked heavily on the cores to make it workable with the heatsink, and as a result the 295x2 was usually a bit faster than it for half the price. Nvidia didn't even send out samples for review, they done a half assed launch video and basically never mentioned it again.

I remember! There were some reviews at the time, I seem to recall reading one on Guru 3D. It’s not a great example, but just saying at the very high end Nvidia have always done whatever they want with pricing. Heck, they do it across the board now!

Suprim also reportedly suffers from major coil whine. Google it.

Oh I know I have had three of them lol. Only the first one was "bad". The rest were manageable but I was looking for better. Worst case scenario I'd PL to 50% and still have an absolutely immense 4k silent beast lol.

I'm not convinced any have 0 coil whine. Gigabytes are overwhelmingly voted the least though. Still if I played 90% of my games on Suprim it was total silence and no coil whine. Only games like Read Dead 2 and Uncharted really stressed it (second I turned on dlss it went though).

To match the Gigabyte fans would have to be silent say 30-40% (inaudible). Unfortunately I really don't like the look of the Gaming OC either.

I tried a PNY 4090 yesterday that people swore was silent with no coil whine and it was bad for both coil whine and fan profile. There is a compromise with every 4090 SKU I think this gen.

Was rebar the sole change between those two figures? Very impressive if so.

Is that consistent through gameplay, or just that area?

Yup rebar the only change, well also did the change to LOD etc. but that wouldn't impact the FPS, well if anything, it might even take of a couple of fps (which is why you can also see the difference in clarity between the 2)

So far seems consistent throughout, usually was around 80 fps when running about in these areas, now 100+

Ignore the darkness, took these ones with hdr on:

Is there any info on FE drops? I notice the FE has been OOS for a month now, would have expected a drop at some point.

Also how long were they in stock for last time? Was there a decent chance to get one?
