NVIDIA 4000 Series

So, who's buying?

Kaapstad likely will. Would love to see @Gregster return in style. Poor fella still stuck on a 2080 Ti. Looks like he may have gone the way of broomstick. Not like him at all as he used to have 3 titans in SLI at one point as I recall.

What a surprise..... :D

"Games will use 16gb because consoles have 16gb and developers are targetting 16gb" yet here we are, for the past what 1-2 years, console games have been sacrificing:

- ray tracing
- various graphical settings
- resolution (significantly)

Just to meet a 60 fps target... well actually going by past few releases, more like 30 fps target now and even then, we're seeing dips to 20 fps...

Exactly, the only ones who would need to be upgrading are those with high refresh high res. displays and even then, I'm not sure it's worthwhile, at least if we look at the state of games released so far and are they really worth these 1+k gpus....... Can see why some are happy to pay for 40xx gpus though tbf i.e. for dlss 3/FG to overcome cpu bottlenecks and/or **** optimised games where grunt won't overcome such issues. With recent titles, no gpu really has the grunt thus are having to rely on dlss/fsr or/and reducing settings anyway e.g. take dead space which many are referencing as a great optimised game but imo, it isn't really given graphics look a bit meh and the game is a corridor/linear based game

A 4090 just to get 60+ fps lol.....
I bet it's the ****** Denuvo affecting the performance. It's got worse graphics than Callisto and nowhere near Plague Requiem which has 75 fps on 4K.

On the Russian site the 4090 is way ahead on ultra than everyone else.

Could be, but even in TAA at 3440x1440 I'm able to get 60fps which is what I kind of expected. 100+fps with DLSS Quality. The graphics get much more intense and impressive later in the game too and I think all in all, whilst the texture detail may not be as high as Callisto, this does a lot more with on screen action, particle effects and interactive items (of which tehre are very very few in Callisto). For me the most impressive of the two has been DS Remake by a long shot. Even though I still enjoyed Callisto. Callisto's Rt was basically a non starter anyway because the rastered lighting and shadows were so good anyway so between the two, mostly comparable anyway for tech.

As for Plague tale, there are basically no intercative items in the game so cannot be compared, particle effects are not on the same level either. They are games that cannot be compared like this.

4090Ti will have takers
Titan ADA? It seems to be missing the extra cores, can't see anyone here buying one for gaming/benching if its using the slower GDDR6 as well.

Will be interesting though, as 6X is much more expensive than 6 but dont really see much harped on about the benefits, much like HBM which AMD dropped. If normal 6 performs as well, NV should a line of cards with cheaper 6 and pass saving on to consumers. Wonder what the probable measurable difference is between RAM types on the same SKU.

Poor Gregster, Turing casualty. He had to tap out, tapped out and priced out after. The epeen wasn't worth the wallet strain...

*Five* different 4090 SKU's available at MSRP on a US online retailer right now. I hope scalpers are getting wrecked right about now.
Are there any good places in Florida to buy Computer parts? I'm visiting at the end of April! Last time i went, i couldn't find anything in Orlando.

Best Buy? I always end up buy something I don’t need when I go there.
Used to be more options like Fry’s but they closed, Micro Center is opening in Florida soon but Miami way.
Maybe some independent stores too.

Can always order online to a pickup locker or your hotel/villa etc

Hmm didn't even think of Best buy! I'll have to see how far our hotel is from the closest Best Buy.

Yeah no chance of going to Miami, it's too far plus we have pretty much everyday booked for a theme park visit.

I didn't know that was a thing! Will look into that, thanks!

Best Buy is all that comes to mind. Long ago, Tiger Direct was a place I liked to go for parts, but the on in SW Fl has been closed down for years.
