NVIDIA 4000 Series

Time to choose my FINAL 4090 lol.

What should I choose? I can get the FE or Gaming Trio around the same price. Build quality is important to me at this price range as well, otherwise I'd probably go Gigabyte. Suprim is +320 over the FE at the cheapest UK price....

My build is completely silent.
I'm not a fan of the Founders Edition cards, so I would go with the GIGABYTE GeForce RTX 4090 Gaming OC 24G. Can be had at close to FE prices online. Has a 600W BIOS and good cooling.
May squeal like a beard trimmer on crack though!

I think I can get a good price on that, but a plastic shroud and flashing RGB! :( lol.

FE gets my vote but sound could be an issue for you.

Any particular reason why you're not a fan of the FE cards?

Don't like the look of them, not very good for extreme overclocks, doesn't support the 660W BIOS, and I experienced the 110c memory temperatures with a couple of the 3090 FEs I tried. Though I know the latter is not a problem with the newer FE models. AIB all the way for me, same with the AMD cards tbf.

I've took Matts advice and went for the 4090 FE. Reasons are best looking to my eyes and build, helps expel heat out the back so with air cpu cooling that's a bonus, also it has the vapour chamber and is binned by Nvidia. Slightly higher fan noise than some, but I'll live with it. It will also hold its value next gen quite well. Also new ones ship with the new power connector.

That was not my advice. :D Nonetheless, they are the cheapest so I can understand the reason for picking one, I hope the coil whine is okay for you mate I know you've had about 15 4090s so far. :p

Haha I've actually had a 4090 fe in my team before, was happy with it. I think the Trio would have ****** me off a bit knowing the parts were better in the FE. I don't think there actually is a perfect card this gen, its just pick your poison lol. My build is a black out North build so should fit in really well.

I'll let you know the overclock on it!

Yeah, I had a Trio and didn't like it. Was not a fan of the looks and it ran quite warm and also squealed like a pig. Out of the two I'd probably have gone with the FE too tbf,

Is it me or is the MSI Suprim X 4090 always out of stock?. I have monitored multiple sites and some have not restocked for a month, including ocuk.

I am aware one site has stock but it's seems odd.

Oh and the fact the FE model is £320 cheaper..

Yeah I noticed its become the hardest one to get and got a price bump. As you say +320 over the founders. I think in America its only about +100.

Yeah, it's a ashame. It's the best looking 4090 by far and seems to be the most quiet with the Asus Strix.. however that much of a price difference is insane over the FE.

I didn't look at US prices but seems to be typically going for 1750 dollars and as you said 100 dollars extra..

I did look at the FE but seems loud, gigabyte has the plastic shroud and the MSI gaming trio looks awful.. and apparently uses worse components..?

Hmm, guess it really means compromising.. which would you guys pick?.

I see there are a lot of rumours about that NVIDIA has suspended production of the 4080 and 4090.

The general follow on from this seems to be that NVIDIA will just tell gamers to "get stuffed, don't have a product then", instead of giving way on prices.
