NVIDIA 4000 Series

Lower latency all round, For me personally anything after around 120Hz is a tiny difference but the e-sport pro's can definitely make use of 500Hz.

Same. After 120HZ I don't care much after. Is it a bit better after that in single player games, sure. Do I care? Not really.

Just noticed the 4090 FE has been completely removed from nvidia's store, some YouTuber's have been speculating Nvidia are intentionally causing a shortage of 4090's to try and drive sales of upcoming lower tier Ti/Super cards. Is another reason not likely be the fast approaching ban on 4090 sales to China, which probably means Nvidia want to sell as many as they can to the Chinese before the ban comes into place? Suits me as it stops me window shopping and making a stupid purchase. I know it makes sense to stick with my 3090 as I currently game at 1440p anyways...

Yeh, just wait it out until the 5 series launch.

My 3080 TIFE is doing just fine, with the help of DLSS at 3440x1440.

Source? I was thinking end of 2024 though

The source is Nvidia themselves, It was an AI demonstration they held, They were talking of their upcoming hardware time table. What with wafers now becoming a lot more expensive and competition at the high end being non existent they don't need to stick to their usual 2 year release cadence hence the Super refresh.

I was skeptic of high refresh making all that much difference after gaming loads at 60fps on my old monitor a bit back. I swapped to a 165HZ number and a 120HZ OLED TV for the PS5 and I couldn't go back. I'm not sure my eyes could make use of 500HZ but I'm sure there are those who can!

What PS5 games are more than 60fps?

I definitely think 120fps is the sweet spot. Well actually for me personally everything after 90fps (using a controller for games like I do).

Luckily paid the cheaper premium when the exchange rate was good :p

This 4090 fe I got is definitely quieter than the original two fes I had. Wonder if its just luck or they changed something. I know a fairly common complaint mentioned by Kitguru was a slightly whiney fan. Not that my original FEs were loud by any stretch of the imagination.

I think next gen I'll stick to the FE again tbh. Game over for the partners.

Not sure if they changed anything, when did you get your original FE? I know the newer FE's have a slightly lower voltage limit 1.07v compared to the OG 1.1v and the new revised connector but other than that im not aware of any other changes.

Mine didn't have a whiney fan either, was dead quiet tbf.

Same if i go for next gen it will definitely be another FE card unless they do something stupid to the design.

I'll be by your side in the Discord 5090 launch day then . I know they did accept FEs back that had a strange fan profile sound. Maybe they just improved their production process. That been said I have 6 140mm fans as intake now and that will definitely help keeping GPU fans at 30%.

Lots of spinny bois doing spinny things, sounds expensive haha!

5090 launch is well over a year away still, plenty of time to enjoy the current for a change.
