NVIDIA 4000 Series

you sound mad

Agreed. That's just as *beep* as what AMD seemingly did. But that's Grim for you. A black or white kind of guy. No shades if gray

End of the day AMD will sell loads of AI gear. These big companies buying don't want to only stick with Nvidia as they know Jensen will keep extending the lead and increasing margins.

TNA understands it. You need to read the articles you post. All those articles you posted link back to Nvidia PR who are trying to counter a new AMD launch and wants to put their own products in the best light. AMD PR does the same.

You said AMD had no hope with their launch, and I simply pointed out they will sell whatever they make. You have spent the last few pages trying to disprove that for some weird reason.

Companies are even buying RX7900XTX/RX7900XT too for AI,which are first generation efforts. So its quite clear companies are also developing their own software stacks too, which all of the large corporations are doing. Amazon developed a custom ARM software stack for its own Graviton CPUs.

But don't worry Nvidia will sell more, because they simply produce far more dGPUs for the segment.

He says he doesn't, but I swear he has a soft spot for AMD :p

I have a soft spot for cheapness. AMD used to be cheaper in CPU/dGPU but now they aren't the budget brand,I probably spend more time having a go at them!

But when it comes to AI,AMD and other companies selling more into the segment actually is good for us.

Because even a few billion in potentially lost sales for Nvidia, will mean Nvidia might launch better products for us. Think of all the RTX3080 owners who refuse to upgrade!
:p

Look at how the China restrictions(which will cost Nvidia and AMD sales),have coincided with the new Super range coming out of nowhere?

That is what I care about.

Trouble is AMD are anything but anymore.

They genuinely think 7900 XT and XTX is good deal. They are not imo. Both £200 too expensive at the very least imo.

7900 XTX at £699 would have been a good deal. I would have one.

AMD like Nvidia also exploited the Pandemic and mining. Just look at how poor the 2021 AMD and Nvidia new releases were compared to the models launched in 2020?

Now both companies are building off the crap 2021 releases with the new ones. Not the 2020 releases.

You get what you pay for.......

I wouldn't touch amd with a bargepole now tbh, lost me somewhat with lack of upscaling support/uptake with rdna 2 and now, still don't have an upscaling solution to beat dlss and now don't have anything to compete with ray reconstruction, SER and so on and frame gen is STILL crap and not well supported. As HUB says, you got to go through a checklist to verify that you won't use xyz and only then can you consider amd to be a worthwhile option.

They lost me with the black screens, most frustrating thing I've ever had to deal with as a PC gamer. It's always something with AMD GPUs and they can only blame themselves for the position they are in.

But back then on launch I think it would have been different. Now you speak with hindsight obviously.

But even if they matched all those features, the pricing is still crap for both sides. Also AMD launches it's cards so late, even if they are a bit cheaper at launch, the Nvidia cards also have dropped in price too. Then this is not helped by supply to the UK not being great at launch.

For RDNA 2? Yeah I was 100% wanting a 6800/6900xt but thanks to amds lack of MSRP in UK and also stock being non existent thanks to them supplying 80% of their hardware to the consoles, it was impossible to get that gpu and I'm thankful amd ****** up tbh as personally if I had a 6800/6900xt now instead of a 3080, I would have already upgraded or be looking to upgrade to a nvidia GPU since RDNA 2 has not aged well as evidenced.

RDNA 3/7900xtx I could have been tempted if priced at like £600-700 but RTX remix games are a no go, upscaling still sucks and nvidia have introduced new and better things so I was always on the fence with RDNA 3.

And now, just no chance.

Nvidia aren't going to be getting me to upgrade either because of the joke prices for a worthwhile upgrade, who knows, maybe 4080 super for £800 will happen

Nexus buys a 4080 Super at £800 and rejoices.

3-4 months later next gen cards come out. His card gets beaten by a 5070 which uses a lot less power with ease and has DLSS 4 and he is left wanting to upgrade once again

Personally I wouldn't buy a 4000 series card after January as it's still roughly a year away from that point, October to January timeframe. Buying any later you may aswell just wait an sit on what you have.

Agreed. I would not have even got the 4070 Ti if not for the fact it would be a cheap upgrade over my 3080 Ti. Glad I did though.
