NVIDIA 4000 Series

For me it is another big fat fail, 4070ti Super is just silly, should be the 4080 at that price and product point with the 4080 Super having more VRAM...

Edit - looking at the 4080 none super

The Zotac ones have changed prices though with one being less then £1k
I compared both, I was on both pages. (Pretty sure I was, now you are making me feel crazy, lol)
I am also aware the Zotac's came down in price. We will see what everything is priced at come the 31st.

Its nvidia failing to read the room unfortunately, these Supers were what the launch cards should have been spec wise and also price. I mean the unlaunched 4080 should have been what this 4070Ti Super is.

This late into the cycle the prices should have driven lower as the gen is approaching its end after all there has been no crypto or scalping to blame just greed, whichever way people want to spin excuses.

I see a lot of the non-PC specialist places i.e. bigger general retailers have completely removed everything above the 4070 from sale.

We all knew the 4080 and 4070ti were way overpriced but Nvidia has essentially confirmed that those who bought either of the above overpaid by £200-400.

I do feel a bit sorry for the people who bought these, however, at least on here, there were plenty of warnings of how bad value they were against the 3 series.

I'd be plenty miffed if I'd have bought a 4080, for instance.

Only thing I’ve taken from this release is that Nvidia’s naming scheme is getting a bit out of whack. Ti Super? Mixed with non Ti and non Supers. It used to be cleaner I swear.

I don't know, this seems like it's probably legit:

Seems like a Jan/Feb 2025 launch for the RTX 5000 series.

Don't we already know that the next gen is codename "Blackwell"?

In which case calling it "Ada Lovelace-Next" suggests fake guesswork to me.

I think i will more than likely head for the 4080 Super FE, moving away from watercooling and just want something simple yet powerful. Heres to the 31st and seeing how many FE's are available.

The 4080FE Super at £949 looks like a pretty decent deal tbh, if you can actually get one. Granted only marginally faster than a 4080 but that wasn't exactly a slow card to start with and, with the prices of 4090s rising and the 4090FE hard to get hold of.

I left the original 4080 as my trusty 3080 10gb was sufficient at the time, but the new FE cards do look decent from the images so far and yes £950ish seems better option this time over the AIB for compactness.

The latest NVidia FE cards are an object lesson to AIBs in how to properly design a GPU. Compact yet efficient and quiet, nice sleek design and, due to a full three-slot bracket, properly bolted to the card, they don't sag at all despite the weight.

I might be tempted by a 4080Super(ish) FE upgrade from my 3080Ti FE :hmm:

Planning to move to 4K OLED monitor of some kind this year so the extra power could be handy
