NVIDIA 4000 Series

$1200 for the RTX4080 with a lousy 256 bit bus lol. Jen really is a master magician to convince people to pay these sort of prices.
It's easy peasy, just stick 'RTX 4080' on the box and claim 2-4x performance vs the last gen. Increase VRAM a bit too, people freaking love more VRAM.

As long as they are slightly ahead of AMD, it's no problem.

Does anyone here use RDNA2 cards (top end ones) on Davinci Resolve? I am doing a lot of work with that program right now and a lot of AI work - and with my current rig (5950x with 3080FE) I might see if I can nab a cheap as poss 3090 as I need the memory. Also tempted to jump over to workstation level so I can go dual GPU as I think Resolve 18 will take advantage of more GPU power. If AMD have solid support then dual RDNA3 cards could be the order of the day. Also colouring the issue with getting a 4090 is my PSU is an 850W Corsair Titanium pretty sure I saw a JonnyGuru review saying it was a solid PSU and could sustain like 1050w before shutting down, wonder if that will contain the transient spikes?

I would ask this on the 6900/6950 thread. Too much noise and not really AMD thread this.

And for all the people here bashing nvidia, This time next year, most people here would have purchased a 4000 card and they would never admin that they once upon a time slated nvidia with pitch forks and saying NEVER NEVER BUYING NVIDIA AGAIN!!

Gonna have to be a lot cheaper for that to happen.

US market don't mind though, they will lap it up (and pay less sales tax tbf).

1.5k vs 700

Is your math skills bad? Lol come on bro

1.5k vs 700 for a 2 year old EOL product. That was sold way over MSRP for two years due to scalping and a mining boom, that is now finally being sold at MSRP.

My maths skills are fine and my ability to understand the value of money is far better than yours

3080 at msrp 2 years after release? Really?

Are you taking the tanking of the pound into account? The pound was around 1.35 to 1.4 during the 3080 launch. So it is quite a bit cheaper now as a result. Just look at Ada prices being more than dollar value, where as they were less than the dollar value with ampere.

Someone else can do that math but it is at least 15% cheaper now.

Is it 8x better looking games though ? All we seem to be getting is shinny versions of games we have already played

Exactly. Not like we are missing out on anything, yet anyway.

That accounts for at most a £100 difference in price to the end user.

So it is not the same as launch price then. Not that many could buy it at msrp for long per of time.

Question is, do you think AMD will be your saviour? What price performance and price poits do you think they will hit in November?

My worry is Lisa will just take the chance and undercut by $100 and call it a day which is still ****.
