NVIDIA 4000 Series

An xbox series X is cooled by a vapour chamber and it works when on its side or upright
Thanks mate.

Another question and again I'm not sure if it can be asked... So Corsair have released a cable that can take up to 600, but there are some GPUs I'm sure that have said it takes up to 600. If I have an old PSU (1600i for example) and this corsair cable, would that limit me as to what 4090s I could buy due to the power draw?

If it holds around this the prices will be more as per expectations £1700-£2000 for majority of cards. It’s a welcome improvement hopefully before major volumes of stock land it can get a bit better. :)

I'd have thought you'd have an order in already with price locked in?
Or is that not how it works with funny old nvidia

Do you think the vaper chamber will cause temp issues if the GPU is in an upright/verticle mounting?

I can't see that it would, the gas phase is mostly spread by expansion and gravity is too weak to do much, the liquid phase is drawn through wicking material. At the scale that these things are built, gravity is going to be much weaker than the wicking effect. Maybe you'd get a measurable difference if you took the chamber and set it up in a lab, but in your computer with so much else going on? Nah, it's not going to matter.

I can share this little story here, some of you know that I bought a Zotac 3080Ti, 2-3 days days ago. I found them somewhere else, £800 and they had 44 in stock, cause they show you when you add the card to your basket. I checked again yesterday evening and they were out of stock ... That tells me a little story that there are quite a few people who are not going to pay the 40xx prices ...

European retailer have started listing cards and it seems they start from 1999 Euro conversion rate the moment is 1.14 to the euro meaning the cards come out at £1720 ish. Hoping we are able to pick up for around this price

£1800 for a GPU ... lol .... good luck people!
Got to agree, you can't just drop them in either.

There will be an initial rush no doubt but demand will dry up.

I would like to buy one but I will only get one if real world results show a huge improvement. 90% just won't spend that sort of money anyway.

Tbh honest i would have bought the 309oti for the extra £100 quid but the 3080ti is looking like a good buy at £800, the 4090ti was even better.

Thats what I am seeing when I looked round last week and got the 3090 as it was under £1000 last week I checked out several places all with plenty of stock and just got the cheapest. Looking at those same places today and they hardly have any available and the ones they do are like £1200 or around that. So 3xxx stock at that level is being bought up since last week. In fact just had another quick check and my local etailer has removed 3090's from their website and they only have one 3090ti for sale now QTY 2.

Pretty sure this is exactly what Nvidia wanted so they could sell all the "old" stock.

well, I don 't really care what NVidia wants, i just wanted a decent card, not too expensive, to last me for the next 6 years ish. I don't upgrade often, my last upgrade was to a 1080, back in 2016

Cheapest one I saw was £1049 but I just went for the 3090 at £899.

that's a very good price, well done you!

I did look at the performance difference between 3080, 3080 TI and 3090 and it didn't look like I was getting much with a 3090 so I did not bother tbh.
I should add I game at 1440p
