NVIDIA 4000 Series

one benefit of atx3.0 is that you can likely get away with a lower total wattage PSU than if you have a atx2.0 design. Corsair recommends using 1200w on an overclocked RTX4090 if it's an atx2.0 unit, but you'll see some GPU companies say 850w or even 1000w is fine, they are assuming you have an ATX 3.0 unit

I look forward to a new wave of "why is my PC shutting down" posts in a few weeks

I don't think they are assuming you have a 3.0 PSU, that's why they are all including the adapter. Virtually no one has one and any new standard will be super slow to gain traction over many years IMO.

I got good idea what MSI pricing will be.

MSI RTX 4090 Gaming Trio $1599 MSRP
MSI RTX 4090 Gaming X Trio $1649 $50 over MSRP
MSI RTX 4090 Suprim X is $1699 $100 over MSRP
MSI RTX 4090 Suprim Liquid X is $1749 $150 over MSRP

Same pricing should apply to RTX 4080 Suprim X 16GB will see $1299 $100 over MSRP

I am surprrised at MSI prices, much cheaper than ASUS and I am very impressed that RTX 4080/4090 Suprim and Suprim X coolers will feature vapor chamber. Not sure about ASUS ROG Strix RTX 4080/4090 will feature vapor chamber or not, no details on product page.

All the prices you see now all mean nothing till the day they are in stock and sold at whatever price they really are sold at. I don't believe any of them prices anywhere yet and selling 1-5 at x price then adding $100's more for the rest of the people doesn't mean they cost that price to me, just a BS PR stunt.

i don't see much point of a 240mm AIO rtx4090. It's going to run at air cooling temps, only ones who should be paying extra for that would be niche use cases, like maybe you have a tiny sff case and some crazy reason you want a 4090 in there and an air cooled one can't fit but you you can fit a small radiator

I think every 4090 has a vapor chamber because of the cooling requirements. Even the FE has a vapor chamber.

Yeah you do get the extra fan on the card as well to give some extra cooling so it’s going to be better than just a 240mm aio. I would have honestly gone with a 360mm if I was designing the card to appeal to the hardcore enthusiasts which is the target demographic for the price of this card.

I was listening to the MSI stream about their 4090 cards and they don't all come with vapor chambers.

The ones limited to 450w just have coper base plates.

I think the FE needs the vapor chamber because the cooler is more compact and only has two fans.

Good spot, I just checked the product page and think your right on that the ventus don’t have any and the gaming trio does not list them either. This is pretty surprising when the bog standard PNY 4090 has it as well as the Zotac ones, gigabyte, Palit, Inno 3d cards.

Palit Omnia Black has no Vapor Chamber but the GameRock versions do.
