NVIDIA 4000 Series

So now the pound seems to be regaining strength but its too late for some suppliers?

The ASus cards shipped at 1.09 from supplier the issues with ASus is they cost a lot more in USD than other brands do and hence they retail at a higher price.

If ASus want to be more competitive with other brands and reduce their USD cost and PP our stock the price will fall but AIBs set their own cost and MSRPs so it’s totally upto them.

If the pound stays at 1.10 or above then rest assured their will be plenty of other OC cards from other brands under the 2k mark.

I can’t control how brands price their cards yes I can complain, scream and shout which I’ve done but the final decision is theirs.

Brilliant, thanks for the update/transparency.

The MSI cards are the ones I've got my eye on myself anyways. Fingers crossed.

I take it that mean you will have Strix cards at launch then? Will be nice to have it as a paper weight for 8 days till my Intel CPU ships.

Yes TUF and Strix shipped today with us tomorrow, limited quantities so far.

Inno3D due next week, small numbers.

Zotac due next week, good quantity, good price.

Gigabyte next week hopefully too and several hundred and good price.

Other brands yet to catch up.

US shop has listed 4090s and pricing. Yeah the Rog is indeed expensive not just here. As for size, put it this way if you have a mid tower, get measuring.

Plus all the extra costs like staffing, delivery etc. That been said the release will probably have a knock on effect of people building / upgrading their PC's in other areas as well.

Say 10% margin. That's still £200k. Even 5% margin gives £100k profit.
222k @10% 105k @5% margin based on 2mil cost (10% is worked from the selling price and not the cost) you'd be surprised at how many don't realise that. I worked for a company that went under thinking that they were "making" 30% of the end of year sale figures by multiplying the cost by 1.3 (mark up)

Sorry I couldn't help myself.

It's now upto 1.11 against the USD, but tax/borrowing of the UK is the same as a few days ago when it was 1.05.
Clearly the traders are just speculating wildly to make huge profits! UK debt is much lower than most G7 countries.
Dunno, maybe introduce currency controls?

Seemingly MSI GeForce RTX 4090 GAMING X TRIO 24G recommends the 850 W PSU

I have a 850 W and prefer not to get a new PSU until the ATX 3.0 become a lot more readily available, so I'm hoping I can get by with my 850 W

Yep, holding off for atx 3.0 too

but I have a 750w :(

one benefit of atx3.0 is that you can likely get away with a lower total wattage PSU than if you have a atx2.0 design. Corsair recommends using 1200w on an overclocked RTX4090 if it's an atx2.0 unit, but you'll see some GPU companies say 850w or even 1000w is fine, they are assuming you have an ATX 3.0 unit

I look forward to a new wave of "why is my PC shutting down" posts in a few weeks
