NVIDIA 4000 Series

Nvidia has released benchmarks for Overwatch 2

This is average FPS at 2560x1440p max settings.

Using the RTX3080 as a base, the rtx4080 12gb is 19% faster than the 3080. The 4080 16gb is 47% faster. And the rtx4090 is 105% faster than the RTX3080

The 3080 gave us around 65% over a 2080 for the same price yet the 4080 is only giving us 47% but for double the price or the 12gb 19% for +50% increase in price, 4K numbers will likely be even less due to the 320>256>192 bus.

And some seem to have accepted it hope sales suck

The sooner Nintendo release better hardware, the better

Yeah Nintendo don't work like that. Their one attempt at competing with high end graphics was a complete disaster and it's shaped the company's viewpoint going forward that graphics don't matter. It's been 20 years and Nintendo still believes graphics don't matter, they focus on gimmicks instead

Was that the Dreamcast?

That was Sega's last console, may have been the GameCube.

Almost certainly the N64. The one time where arguably they competed at the high end. It still sold 30+ million units and gave us some of the greatest games of its generation so not all bad…

It’s also expensive to compete at that end - why would Nintendo need to when most of their franchises don’t require it and never have.

Unlike their competitors Nintendo are pretty good at making a profit out of their console.

They're lucky the software is good, many people I know that own switches have started just playing the games on pc.

I hope developers entirely neglect the switch in any and all efforts as we move on to an era of baseline ssd/nvme and the series x/ps5 hardware.

I like how after their launch where they were constantly matching up the 3080ti vs the 4080 12 and 16GB and the 3090ti against the 4090, they aren't part of that chart now

I wonder why?
