NVIDIA 4000 Series

How did you make that work? Someone sent me a code, I got all the way to Paypal checkout and then it popped up "you need an invite for this purchase". Its fine, that member has now bought it and I'll collect it from him but just curious how you made it work?

You just need the persons who link it was email address and put that in on the first bit (i did put the persons name on this bit as well but not sure that was needed). On the delivery bit you can put all your details in and your email address.

i agree at lower resolutions, where the cpu is busier, i'm cpu bound but at higher resolutions (atleast 8k, i use vr) the cpu doesn't do much, it's all on the gpu.
for example in msfs my cpu in task manager (i look at each core) averages 65% useage, whereas my gpu sits at 100%.
like i said, i asked someone with a 4090 / 5900x to test msfs with the same settings i use (he has the same vr headset) and when he selects high resolutions he is getting fps in the same ballpark as me. not quite the same as vr but look at 4k gaming benchmarks, they show cpu doesn't make a major difference.

Glad things are working well for you. Don't want to bicker and argue - but many well respected reviewers and experts have found that the 4090 is so powerful that all but 12th, 13th gen or Ryzen 7000 bottleneck even at 4K. A quad core 7700k doesn't have a chance, it's like putting a Bugatti W16 engine into a Ford Ka and expecting it to reach over 300MPH.

It's almost as if...scalpers have no conscience, or morals.
i was only wondering if they are using different email for different accounts, cant they just bundle the throwaway email with the card so that the warranty is transferred..
again i dont know how scalping is profesionally implemented but surely they wont be buying those quantities from the same email/account..
its interesting though how stuff works, i guess i could figure out how to automate the ordering process by talking to people in the e-comm industry, but then again i dont want to store my banking details in an unencrypted form even on my own computer to make the process work

Just ran some benches - haven't tweaked anything yet all @ stock. Summary, twice as fast as the 3090!

For those with the new Suprim is the new RGB logo on the heatplate meant to be brighter at the right, dimmer on the left by default? 90% sure it is and it's meant to fade across, but just wanted to be sure.
Mine seems that way. I changed it to a different setting in lightsync that looks better though.

I guess it's just how the LEDs are positioned compared to the bevel, I get a lot of light leak out the side from the diamond logo too, but I guess it's just how the LEDs are positioned under the backplate

Mad to think that a couple of years ago an 3080 was £649 for the FE, now we're virtually double that price for the same tier of card......If prices continue like this a lot of people are gonna be priced out, over a grand for a gpu that 2 years back cost £649 (if you were quick on the trigger). :(

This is correct big bottleneck... CPU matters "big" style with 4090...

Not everyone is supposed to be able to afford the top card though.

but prices probabylk should be more like
4060 - £400
4070 600
4080 800
4090 1200

+100 for TI models and I'd imagine most people would be happy

Really don’t know to buy a 4090 today
I keep going to my local computer shop picking one up and then putting it back down again and walking out
i really wanted one the asus 4090 strix but they only have the asus 4090 TUF & Gigabyte OC gaming cards in stock

So that Gaming OC on ebay got no more bids in the last 2 hours and sold for £2100.00. That buyer could have potentially lost money on that sale depending on where they bought and by the time ebay takes their cut. Suck it scalpers!

The GPUs are not binned so makes zero difference in the silicon lottery which one of these you choose.... also I tested a lot and 600w board vs 450w board zero difference... as its all silicon lettery and not power scaling...

I used to get the top card in the regular line up (non ti), now the top card is a price pisstake. Just as well i don't even bother with gaming anymore, currently running an r9 290x, might snag a 3070 or something to aid with video rendering performance.

I fully respect your opinion and i do understand what you are saying, it's natural to think that. luckily i do have the funds to upgrade if i want but it was heavily dependent on if i thought i'd see a good performance increase in msfs, but like i said someone with the same setup as me apart from him having a newer cpu is not really getting anymore performance than me (actually, he gets about +10%).

i will have a read around on 4090 cpu bottlenecks, i'm always up for being educated on something. thanks.

Oh you will love frame chasers cheerleading of how good the 4090 will be at 1080...probably with shunt mods, etc once the video is out. High intensity.
Are you ready for this...."Cue the music"

And you thought I was kidding...

settings mostly low
Roughly 70% GPU usage

He even praises the coil whine.

I got the Inno3d Ichill X3 from OCUK and I gotta say this GPU is a steam train, If I'm still bottlenecking this at 4k with my 12900k then blow me away.

Who'd have thought a top of the line 16 core CPU that was released less than 12 months ago still cannot feed this enough juice! :)

However I have no intention of upgrading my CPU anytime soon I expect this CPU to last me some years before I contemplate even thinking of changing it, It does everything I need and very fast at that.

Let me be clear I detest Nvidia and told so many people I wouldn't be touching their GPUs this time around after the 4080 12gb shenanigans, They really need to be brought back down to earth but when the embargo was lifted the day before release and you see the real raw numbers it's extremely hard to pass on.

My real intention was to purchase the 7900xt by waiting this time around but that idea didn't go to plan as I really just can't see AMD getting close especially in raytracing.

My main reason for wanting this amount of performance was to couple with my new LG 55" OLED with VRR at 4k 120 FPS and you know it looks absolutely glorious :D

If it wasn't for 4k high refresh rates I'd have stuck with my 3080 for a while but I would say anyone that can afford a 4090 comfortably that is don't even think about it the performance is obscene!

It’s just a shame that the FE is IMO the nicest looking of the bunch, and the cheapest.

Shame about availability though!

Think I will be picking up a 4090 at some point, just waiting for AMD to disappoint me first before spending the cash.
