NVIDIA 4000 Series

They are in stock yes, are they selling? Yes, you presume to know things you simply do not, for all you know we could have 1 in stock or 1000, neither number is true but needless to say we have had several hundred land, am sure the same is true for competitors as well, but they are selling well and based on current sales rates they will all be sold out by Monday/Tuesday, so they are actually selling OK.

I'm just curious, can you tell us if it is individuals or companies buying the cards?

You're forgetting that this is the ultra high-end card though and it can command such prices? Obviously these aren't the big volume sellers but it seems anyways they're in big demand and people are willing to spend. When the 3000-series have been depleted then only then will the prices for the lower cards come down imo, Nvidia have deliberately made the 4000-series to sit on top of the 3000-series stack until this happens.

I think Nvidias 40 series house of cards is coming down crashing this time if not going up in smoke due to the other issues they are facing too.

My cable is not due to be shipped out (Estimated) until the 16th November from Cablemod, Anyone how long they actually take to arrive once shipped?

When did you order your cable? I ordered on the 19th Oct and haven’t been given a shipping date so no idea how long mine will take.

So far only the liquid cooled 4090 actually looks decent imo. Ampere had so many better looking cards/cooler setups. Do we think we'll see more/different 4090 cards in the future?

That sweet sweet feeling of 2016 where you could have your 1080, a few of the latest full releases, a new monitor and a short city break in Europe.

2022 and you get a 4080 with a supermarket meal deal and end up in tears as you watch smoke appear from your pc. You're strangely comforted by the fact you were playing another terrible beta test and spent more time looking at the power consumption than playing the game.

I only ordered on the 27th October, It doesn't tell you the estimate in the order status page of your account but if you go to their support page there is an order tracker separate to your account where you can input your order number and email address and it gives you an estimated ship date.

It might not even be accurate this estimate for all we know, It could be sooner or even later by the looks of things.

Just to add, Nvidia in only their way possible has created a panic buy of cables lol.

I'm pretty sure when the 3090 released it was over 9 months before there were actual cards sat stock for more than a few minutes so the fact that 4090s have been in stock for days now so soon after release points to weak demand this time around and nvidia hasn't even really got production volume up to speed yet so I can't see these prices being sustainable for very long.

Whilst it is a strong card, I think it was Purg pasta text that showed gen % improvements each time and its quite similar to other releases in that regard. What I notice though is the % hike this gen is another sneaky move that is not necessary. You look at the 3090Ti was quite recent and after the fomo popped and the crypto support caved, the price overnight tumbled by 40% showing you the launch margins they are making. Excuses will be made but I cant think of many nvidia launches where they have bungled it in multiple areas at once.

Ampere (RTX 3090 Ti) to Ada (RTX 4090) = 45% increase
Ampere (RTX 3090) to Ada (RTX 4090) = 64% increase
Ampere (RTX 3090 Ti) to Ada (RTX 4080 16GB) = ?
Ampere (RTX 3090) to Ada (RTX 4080 16GB) = ?
Ampere (RTX 3080) to Ada (RTX 4080 16GB) = ?

% = performance increase from previous generation from Techpowerup reviews.
