NVIDIA 4000 Series

Can 100% dispute the coil whine going away theory also. I am sure that definitely can happen. I had a 2080 Ti that screamed exactly the same for 2 years and through changes in all sorts of hardware including PSU. It is the main thing I would return something for early nowadays after thinking I could live with it.
two cards that I had coil whine in the past the coil whine never went away this is over years so I need to play another lottery and hope coil whine gets better over time ??
Ya'll need to stop playing 'menus' and loading screens or 1080p - cards wont scream then.

Outside the room!? That is bad..........was that mid game or paused on a menu?

Fair enough to both, maybe you have particularly sensitive hearing - like once you see something you cant unsee it - same for hearing. I'm old and probabaly a bit deaf.

Maybe whining cards should be sold to the older generation and younger better hearing folk get 'binned' cards for whine.....and pay extra like binned CPU's :D

Mine screamed at low FPS too. Lowering power limit and lower FPS helped a bit but was so bad to start with it was always noticeable under moderate load.

menus worst but still high enough in game even with fps at around 80fps :) and with different pitch of whine according to fps :)
undervolting helped but not enough and I aint gonna go to the length of losing so much performance to lower it lol

I did notice that also but no idea why its enable , maybe trying to boost the score as its classed as an upscaler although it says native

I think if you have NIS selected under Sharpening/Upscaling tab but not active it still shows under the benchmark in MWII. Native just means it's set at 0 so not active or scaling. Does this with the CAS sharpening as well even if you have it at 0% I believe.

People are not even willing to pay msrp now £1699 for a brand new sealed 4090 FE. Seeing the same now at a lot of places the scalpers or people that changed their mind now trying to sell them off for what they paid or less.

^... not selling....

Prices are absurd and the issues these cards have is putting a lot of people off now and best thing to do right now is sit and wait for nvidia's statement on the melting issue and wait for them to reduce the prices as there is no need for a card that once cost £1400 to be £300 more now and with neutered features compared to the previous one. Like I said ...

Well this is the outcome of that sale even at msrp £1699...

As I said people have woken up to the pricing and the issues with these cards and not even selling now at msrp and scalpers now can go start shipping them back for a refund and a postage loss. Scalping is well and truly done now with gpus.

Brings a tear to my eye to see scalpers failing to sell… bet it still won’t stop the 7900XTX being scalped to high heaven though!

Wonder if they’ll be a bit more cautious around the 4080 launch. If there’s 4090 stock at msrp I can’t imagine anyone would be willing to pay a markup on the 4080 otherwise you might as well just get the 4090.

Here’s hoping the days of scalping this stuff for months and months is over. Imagine if you could actually just decide you wanted a new gpu, and simply buy a GPU from a shop without bot alerts and a healthy dose of patience.

This will fail too and I wish them to try as the 4090 scalpers tried, so they can all make a loss and learn to stop being greedy scum of the earth.

The 4080 is out now - I am pretty sure I saw some on another site and in stock
