I was walking the dog when I got the alert - standing in the middle of a field with dodgy 3G reception I managed to bag one! Happy days!

This is the usual nonsense that people say every time next generation PC component prices increase. The fact is that these cards, even priced at £1700-£2000, are selling by the bucketload and PC games sales are only increasing.once mainstream GPU's are costing 2k PC gaming will die imo.
I just happened to be reading a text message when the Telegram alert popped up so I literally was able to grab one straight away - although the phone reception was a little spotty I managed to do it!I'm glad, I was going to tag you but by time I ordered mine it was gone. Glad we both got one... with warranty
On another site they state they will have the Strix (both flavours) next ThursdayManaged to grab an FE today to potentially replace my Zotac Trinity (going to compare them an d see if it's worth it). Really want the Strix but that card just apparently does not exist to buy lol.

Feels like people buying 4090 are the same that were buying the original Titans and not saying these prices would be the norm in a few generations.
I know it's been said many times over the last what feels like 20 years but once mainstream GPU's are costing 2k PC gaming will die imo.
Wow that is some level of FOMO you have there.Managed to grab an FE today to potentially replace my Zotac Trinity (going to compare them an d see if it's worth it). Really want the Strix but that card just apparently does not exist to buy lol.
This is good to know, thank you. I'll search aroundOn another site they state they will have the Strix (both flavours) next Thursday
Yeah - quite cheap too (for a Strix)This is good to know, thank you. I'll search around
It's more that, I play on an ultrawide and am looking to hold on to the 4090 as long as possible, so I want the overclocking headroom (even if it's marginal) to stick on a 4090 as long as possible. And the Zotac Trinity is a 450w card and my particular card has no overclocking potential. I know it sounds dumb.Wow that is some level of FOMO you have there.

Not only is your ultrawide monitor likely of a lesser resolution than standard 4k, there is pretty much no meaningful performance gain from any additional overclocking headroom. The FE/Zotac/Strix all perform within range of each other and all run cool and quiet, so what you are doing is a pointless exercise and yes, a bit daft. Why do you have a 4090 with a mobo that only has PCI 3 O.oQuick question, so my motherboard is PCI 3 so how much of a restriction will I find that with a 4090 card?
