NVIDIA 4000 Series

Rumour is September release date, I've not found anything concrete yet beyond a screengrab of an offer I guess I should wait for the 4000 series? I have a 1080ti, and I can get a 3080ti.... but why get now when 4000 is coming?
I too can't wait for a new build with a 40XX series only less then 7 months to go, and that will go fast by:)

I think thats just a smaller concern of the bigger picture. Transport costs are already 5x or 6x above normal (pre Covid) with the fuel prices rising it will get worse. This decade is heading in one direction and dont forget they say everything happens in 3's. (thats my superstitious sentence out the way)
Very true there are a lot of issues adding up.

Seems like Nvidia and AMD are either going to have to suck it up and eat into their margins or people should forget about getting the next generation of cards.

I am OK with selling up. Besides GT7 just released on PS5.

I don't want to sell up but it is looking to be on the horizon unless as you say... They eat their own margins.

Just read on tweaktown a rumour that the 4070 will be up to 30% faster than RTX 3090 in gaming. If this is true it’s pretty promising that the 4080 and 4090 will be a sizeable performance upgrade over the 3090. Can’t wait to try out gaming on this new series and will be flogging my 3090 soon enough.

That comes from the MLID video I posted on the previous page they're all just quoting him

he said rtx4070 is 10% to 30% faster than 3090 depending on game and if it's rasterisation or rayvtracing.

He said rtx4080 is 40% to 60% faster than rtx3090 and rtx4090 is 80% to 120% faster than rtx3090

But if these numbers are true it means that rtx4090 is 50% faster than rtx4080. Can anyone belive that!?? And even if it is true would Nvidia dare hand out that performance at launch or would they rather hold onto the 4090/ti/Titan for a later launch at really high price

If those number are true then expect to pay a really high price from the get go.

I'm surprised many people take his word as gospel, he's just a random chap spreading rumours. If I remember right most of his 3000 series leaks were incorrect.

The low end 4060 will match the 3090 if we're going by that, really doubt it. If true get ready for 3080/3090s for £300 on the bay unless the 4060 is £999 :D

If it’s that much faster, 4000 series will be unicorns when it comes to availability and insanely priced.

PLUS ...

Ohh great... next gen gpus already planned for crypto miners then...Prices threw the roof next gen.. good luck everyone still wanting a gpu for gaming and normal use.

Anyways we will soon not be able to afford to power our computers with how things are going :(.

Yeah that’s definitely suspect. I would think up to 10% improvement would be the ceiling. I think overall a 50% improvement for 4090 from 3090 would be a great result but we will see. Looking forward to more concrete rumours and leaks on this though!

With the rumours of the mega power consumption of the 4090, I saw a meme image the other day where the new cards had a kettle plug 240v port as a joke, but honestly it made me think: 'actually that is genius'!

I hope that the supply massively outstrips the demand, but not in an immediately obvious way. so that a bunch of scalpers buy tons of cards that they then can't offload. Because vengeance!
