NVIDIA 4000 Series

Its not get its own unique design like the 3080/3090 FE blocks , this generation all the blocks look the same from AIB to FE . The only visual difference is if you choose active back plate cooling or standard which is a metal backplate afaik
Real shame. the 3080/3090 FE Special Edition blocks are some of nicest looking out there

We all complain, but we will all get hysterical again and keep on buying.

There are many things in that video that are depressingly correct. We just keep on buying. Sure the 4080 is a disaster, but it won't take much to get us hysterical again. There is no way that NVIDIA is about to reduce the price by £500. Get used to £1000+ video cards. They aren't going away soon.

I still blame the 2080Ti.

That was almost a test card from NVidia just to see how much people would pay. Supposedly £1k but almost impossible to find under £1200 yet barely 30% faster than a 1080Ti. Joke of a card from a price/performance perspective but enough idiots still bought it that NVidia will never go back now.

GPU market is officially in the worst state since the global crisis in 2009

Nvidia's sales have fallen 20% in the last 3 months alone and AMD fallen by 47%

And still they put the prices up. Are they just suicidal?

Someone inside Nvidia is currently pitching "well we're selling fewer cards so we should be charging more for the ones we are selling"

I'm not sure if Jensen can last for much longer and if it wasn't for the data centre segment performance he would be gone already.

First lying to investors by understating the impact of mining followed by his genius plan of doubling the price to maintain the same profits.

Needless to say Q3 financial results took a big dump on his plan.

yea the last 3 months because everyone was waiting for new stuff

Sure but it's the largest fall in over 10 years, so none of the previous launches over that time resulted in such a large drop off, not even the RTX3000 launch where gamers were given actual value with the $699 rtx3080

I ordered this one
Hopefully dispatches soon!
Hopefully shouldn't be to long as looks like they have come in stock now maybe got a delivery today as was out of stock earlier ... either way not a bad price at all :D

You may want to think about liquid metal on the die again as from watching this guys video below he has a 32 deg temp delta with paste in furmark where as with Liquid metal that is 20 degs on mine :)

It's absolute crap for a start neither AMD nor Nvidia even release the number of units they sold

I mean... If they didn't drop it would be weird no? Not only are they coming off peaks due to COVID madness and mining but we're also headed into a bleak recession.

Yes, when you think about it there are a number of factors that play in to this. PC sales have really decreased since the pandemic to below pre-pandemic levels (because so many people bought in the pandemic), GPU have gone down due to the mining collapse. NVIDIA have way too many 30 series GPU's and way to many 40 series ordered. It all adds up to falling profits for NVIDIA. I am surprised that they seem to want to kill off the upgrade market rather than revitalise it. The way they are going I will drop from buying once every two years to once every five or perhaps even longer and I am sure other people will do the same. At the moment I am downgrading my monitor to remove the need for such an expensive GPU. I just refuse to pay these prices.

I would need to watch it again but there were a lot of thing I disagreed with Linus. One of them being that we(the media) have no effect on people buying habits when they complain about pricing. Absolute nonsense, you are called influences for a reason. The idea that they don’t affect people is a bunch of BS. If that was true they wouldn’t get free GPUs.

Probably dispatch tomorrow for Thursday then I’m away all weekend which is typical after waiting weeks!

That’s some difference, how much rad space does he have compared to you?

I have 4x480 low fpi rads, will see how good the block is on provided paste and if my delta is crap maybe I’ll try Liquid Metal.
