NVIDIA 4000 Series

I saw sense and cancelled my 4080 FE before delivery and want to buy a 4090 (FE or AIB) - it makes more financial sense. I have been told by the FE supplier that due to restrictions stipulated by NVIDIA I now can't order ANY other 40xx series card until they are lifted! I take it this restriction is only with that retailer?

You're just being maniupulated into spending even more money, that's why the 4080 is such a ripoff

Yes just with that retailer, nothing stopping you buying one from OCUK etc :)

Are sales amazing? Nope!

Does nobody want them? Untrue.

We have sold nearly 30 of the sub £1300 cards today. :)
Its pretty insane compared to the 1000's that were oversold on launch day for the 30 series. That was across 2 sku's as well on the 3080 and 3090! It's like a drop in a bathtub compared to a drop in the ocean.

To be honest those were crazy times, if NVIDIA had announced 3080 10G at £899 they would have still sold insane amounts immediately due to how the market was, that whole period was like 100% + up on previous years, so its fair to say a big drop off in sales was always going to happen and we certainly expected and knew it was coming, I am sure most others did as well, all I will say is I am not surprised at all by it and is why my stock is very lean and I can quickly adjust and adapt with new small batches of stock now arriving daily to maximise the effect of the improving pound as well. :)

Are sale of the 4090 still going strong ? Article below says the 4090 is outselling the 4080 on ebay ( US ) at a rate of 3.4 to 1 ... you noticing something similar over here in the UK ?

I still remember that table and script someone made that would allow you to work out roughly what position you was in compared to everyone else by entering your order number and time of order into it lol! That's how crazy it got! Some people were in the thousands in the queue!

Just get a mate/family to buy it for you.

4090 sales are strong. :)

But sales cannot come close to the covid and lockdown craziness, the market was always going to resume normal operation at some point and that point is now and in some cases lower.

I mean it surely sounds like there's plenty of stock about and you can get it within pretty short notice, compared to before where it was pretty unknown and it was more of a.. it would come when it does and that's it. It most definitely does not sound like there's much of a shortage tbh, maybe a little longer lead time on the 4090 but nothing major and no waiting months and months for something you've prepaid for.

4090 is still we get whatever we can get.
4080 is still a little tight and I'd like to build my stocks up more but supply is not bad because demand is not huge.

In short in a few months time we might actually be back to normal times where I can pick and choose what I want to buy, how many I want to buy and get it readily whenever I need it, just like how it pretty much used to be. :)

People got totally mugged off, they sat there for months with pre-orders while NV and retailers sold THEIR cards to other people for more money.

:D

and hopefully at much better prices when AMD shows it hand. Gonna be real curious as to what your AMD 7000 series stock will be like before and after launch. If numbers are upto scratch, it could very well outsell nvidia for once!

I suspect AMD stock will be extremely tight this year and into early next year.

Yeah because they wanted an Asus , EVGA or Aorus, if they went for a Zotac they would have got one withing 6 weeks like I did.
