NVIDIA 4000 Series

Yep using the Apex now, but that won't be it I don't think.

I think its the monitor. It doesn't seem to like HDMI 2.1. With Display Port it seems to be more reliable at showing the splash screen now when I switch adaptive mode off the Samsung G8. Unfortunately I don't have any other monitors to try.
Are you using the latest Apex bios 0703 ? it specifically says improves compatibility with 4090 ...

Palit do three cards in each 40 series range currently:
- Omni Black - No Vapor Chamber in cooler (runs 2-3c hotter), no RGB, no Overclock
- GameRock - Vapor Chamber, RGB, no Overclock.
- GameRock OC - Vapor Chamber, RGB, Overclocked out the box.

The OmniBlack is the best seller, the cooler is still so good it out performs other brands and many people prefer the toned down all black looks of the card.
Thanks went with the Omniblack with a view to help OC'ing the card with the forums help later. :D

As is usual, a cost of living crisis mainly affects the low earners and poorest in society. People who have the disposable income to afford 4090's during a cost of living crisis are generally not in those brackets.
On top of that, a 4090 isn't too much of a stretch if you don't do anything particularly grand outside of your PC hobby - e.g. cook at home, don't drink or smoke, run a small 'regular' car, work from home, no fancy clothes

Yes, say all us 4090 owners :)

People who are buying that sort of tier probably would be fine paying £2-£2.5k

Problem is the lower tiers are also getting price hikes where most of the market is , even if you can afford the lower ones doesn't feel you getting value as you once did , fun part for me is looking for parts finding the best value for my needs and feeling great about it

Yeah, because we buy stuff from America, so if the dollar goes up it costs more dollars to buy the products, hence we need to spend more pounds to get the dollars.

Pretty certain that's it.

Noooo! The pound buys you more dollars, the more dollars the pound buys you the less pounds the GPU costs. :)
