NVIDIA 4000 Series

True, but prices keep increasing exponentially...

Still not for me to try and dictate what others spend their money on and in all fairness prices are sky high now as silicon wafers have gone up quite a lot, Nvidia simply passed that cost onto the end user.

With the government? Are you being serious right now?

No not the government but an entity of sorts with legal sway.

I think the slight MSRP reduction we have seen today will be it for the 40xx series, at least until Ti variants are released. Hopefully I'm just being sceptical!

On a separate note, how are the MSI 4090s? They seem to be becoming available here and there.

No one has the right to dictate what others spend -- that goes without argument. But there does come a point when, even if you have the cash to throw around without a care, you realize when prices have been raised far past any precedent in the industry's history, when they have been pushed higher than regular market dynamics support by a duopoly with capital reserves galore who are striving to drag the market along, and when those same players are trying to adjust the narrative... Then it's time to say enough's enough. This is not good for gaming, and it's not good for the GPU industry.

Received my Cablemod cable today.

Just a heads up: I added a metal shroud to the config, which won't allow installation on an EK FE block. Had to remove the shroud to allow the connector to fit. Its literally 1mm too wide.

Hopefully I will get to use it when the 90/180 degree adaptors are released.

Depends what one you're looking at but I have a Suprim X and it's brilliant.

when did you order? Looking like 5-6 weeks to receive a cable on their site atm!

Ah ok gotcha. Nice addition of being able to toggle ECC -- didn't know about that. :D Being able to OC the mem by a gig though... pretty insane
Yeah I didn't know that was a user toggle these days on these GPUs, I've no idea when they added it in the drivers though hehe.

Yeah I'm happy with that :D although some of the numbers I've seen thrown around for the memory I think this is not great at overclocking the Vram compared to some I am seeing here and there lol, Although overclocking the Vram just increases it's temp somewhat so not really worth pushing it too much as I don't think the rewards are nowhere near as great as the core.

GOD I hope RTX 4080 price will finally get price cut to $999 to compete with RX 7900 XTX in mid December so I can get MSI RTX 4080 Suprim X at good price.

Hmm still too expensive imo but welcome all the same

In all fairness no one needs to justify spending their money to anyone, It's their money. If someone wanted to spend £10,000 on a liquid nitrogen frozen Himalayan yak turd encrusted in diamonds and then encased in a resin cube that is completely up to them, They do not need to justify it to anyone.

Hey, I was told that my Yak turd was unique! :(

Nvidia will do this to try and clear some 4080 cards before they release a 4080ti card to compete with the 7900xtx. Plus in the first half of 2023 you will see the 7950XTX which will be knocking on the door of the 4090. The 4080 which should be a 4070ti is a poor seller at its current price.

Yes, they are expensive - making yourself feel better by calling scalpers stupid or people paying these hhigh prices as stupid - when essentially you just cant afford high end gaming
I could afford 10 of them. I'm simply not paying £1200 for what was a £500 card 2 years ago. Nvidia made the 4000 series all about the price by sticking a stupid price on the 4080 while sticking a 4070 class chip inside it. I don't want to is not the same as I can't.
The fact that 4080's are sitting in shelves despite Nvidia making massively less of them compare to 4090's goes to show just how massively both you and they have misread the room.

Can't get the FE in my corner of Europe. :o

Which corner? Just seen drops of 4090FE right now in Spain, France and Italy. Germany dropped some earlier today.

I bet UK will drop later this week during which I have a really busy 5 days and won’t be able to keep an eye on the phone…
