NVIDIA 5000 SERIES - ***NO COMPETITOR HINTING***

Anyone heard anything on the Inno3d Ichill frostbite? The one with the waterblock? not seen it listed at any UK retailers yet.
Did you find anything more about this? I did submit a webnote but the reply was that they are unable to confirm anything with regards to stock/ potential stock / future potential stock etc. etc. Not even confirm "we hope to be able to stock this card in the future" which was a shame as that was all I wanted to know... e.g. be patient or "nope we're not stocking that product any more".

I'd like to know what fellow 3090 users thinking... Worth an upgrade to a 5090, or waiting it out for something else?

I would say some. Some are even upgrading to a 5080 :D

Only you can answer this really.

Gaming profile
Resolution
Refresh Rate
Etc

To answer your question in a basic sense without making any tailored consideration then the answer is likely no, its not worthwhile.

This feels like a minor upgrade to me - not worth it.

I game at 4K, using a 120Hz LG TV (but rarely get near that these days). So I would benefit, but then I'm not sure I play enough of the AAA latest games to justify it...

So will the 5070ti match the 4080 super do you think?

When the 5080 is barely better than 4080 itself, fat chance
It may come close, maybe a bit below 4080 is my guess.

Also, regardless of the fact that there is divided opinion on these new Nvidia GPUs (there's plenty of posts here of folks who want to get one), can we appreciate where the 5000 series stands as a generation of Nvidia GPUs?

I mean, is it just me or is this the worst generation of Nvidia GPUs in over a decade?
I literally can't remember the last time we had a stack where each part didn't beat the previous gen's next tier up.
I mean some of us are used to GPUs beating 2 cards up the previous gen, from the good old days.

AMD said they weren't competing at the high-end. Sure they can't compete with 4090/5090, but at this rate they may end up with a high-end card by accident lol

no, no, no! Get caught up with the vitriol that the second coming of Jesus didn't occur on the same die size
There's times I think it would be nice if all the whinging and complaining could be seperated from the thread.

I dont get what all the sudden concern is for 4080 owners as some people have spent that last few years saying and trying to convince people its not sold much at all and I've asked for proof to back this up and pretty much got nothing but rumours and speculation. The 5080 has arrived and there's a meltdown now as theres no upgrade for 4080 owners.

Nah, I’d never drop £2k on a GPU in the current climate. I’ll do what I did last time around and just invest the money instead. I’ll probably upgrade when I see a 100%+ uplift without having to drop a a few thousand to do so.

For reference, I only paid £600 for my 3090 just after the 4 series released.

At the high end all I can think of is 10x series to the 20x series was a pathetic showing and I pretty much dumped my PC until the 30x series landed lol.

Other than that yes I agree I can't think of a worse generational upgrade, The 80 class and below are an absolute joke compared to their 40x series predecessors.

The owners threads will end up being made tomorrow, which should have less dog piling.

It's the same as 3000 owners saying they are going to get a great generational uplift as they are coming from 2 generations down now.. when they could have had basically the same performance for the last 2 years (excluding the 5090). This is why the 4000 owners are annoyed, although we all like having the best and i feel smug owning a 4090 and its going to be probably the 2nd best card for the next 2 years so 4 years in total, from a collective consumer point of view i would actually like it if this generation was a great lift on all 50 series cards.. it just makes the next generation even more exciting and something to look forward too.
Now we are going to go into the 6000 series being extremely warey and potentially again full of dissapointment.

After a recent upgrade to a 4K 240 monitor, my 3090 longevity was getting worried. But the games I play are absolutely fine and whilst I'd love a 5090 - not a chance I'm dropping £2k.
This is the thing, the 3090 is still a beast...
I have a 3090 and will be upgrading to a 5090 - 100-120% uplift.
.... but then I could play Cyberpunk properly at 120fps.... and Indy... hmmmmmmmmm
