NVIDIA 5000 SERIES - ***NO COMPETITOR HINTING***

Yeah I’d seen some reviewers saying they were getting 12% more performance from a simple overclock.

Not surprised as the thermals and power use seem to be in a really good place on most models.
Sounds like the memory overclock has been deliberately limited, possibly to allow a 5080 Super later (as this part is already fully enabled)

Loads of 5080 and 5090 on eBay now. All with silly buy it now prices or offer. So I wasted all their time and offered £1
Offer declined so offered £2 and so on

Such fun
Yeah this isn’t doing what you think you’re doing… it will be automatically declined below a certain price.

What you should do is offer a reasonable amount and when they accept it, don’t pay:cry:

Most retailers are asking for £300 over MSRP for these cards. Disgraceful tbh.
That very strongly suggests the retailers are paying more than the MRSP for them from the suppliers and distributors, and that the MSRP was a fantasy like the 30 series cards etc.

Well I got a 5090 Suprim in the end. From 2pm till 3pm refreshing and seeing nothing but b0rked websites and no buy buttons I naffed off on the school run fully dejected thinking I'd be in this for the long haul.

Back from school run, just happened to refresh the 'other site' and PRE ORDER was glowing with angelic heavenly music in the background. YOLO'd onto it just so I didn't have to send my life watching trackers and refreshing sites.

Emails are dropping in and est. delivery is 31Jan to 4th Feb which is a hell of a lot better than the est. 28th may it said on my initial order confirmation. I do hope that's true. Please please please

True. I think a lot of it could have been mitigated with clearer communication. Peoples time is very precious on a launch like this, and knowing the real state of affairs or what the plan was would have helped a lot.

The 5080 prices bother me LOL it is barely deserves the name 5060 let alone 5080 aside from having more VRAM than I'd expect at the 5060 point but not enough for what should be the new 5080 point.

The 5090 really is for people who aren't going to even factor the price into their buying equation *shrugs*

3060 had 12GB, so you would expect the 5060 to have 16GB by now anyways... But Nvidia planned obsolescence always sprinkled in..

The 5080 is a complete joke and the 5090 is not even worthy of the name 5080 too. Nvidia's run will end soon enough and watch how they will be the next Intel... begging customers to buy their wares at cut down prices, You honestly think Intel would be pricing their GPUs as they are if they had half a chance in the market.. Remember what Intel was... They were Nvidia of the past and the 4 core kings for years and years of stagnation.. Nvidia thinks they can do that and be Apple too at the same time...

I doubt overclocking the memory would do that much in most cases, the biggest gains will mostly likely be from the gpu core frequency.

Does anyone know why the Inno3D 5080 is so expensive? It's £1460 for an entry level card from a fairly unprestigious brand with no OC and no fancy extras. Previously their equivalent cards from the 30 and 40 series were close to MSRP...

I've got the same ETA on my 5090 Suprim, from the same place. Could be a mistake, hopefully they know they have a big allocation due tomorrow. Hmm!
