NVIDIA 5000 SERIES

No doubt, even DLSS3 has had a new model released, but I don't think it's a valid selling point until it's good. Obviously everyone has their own preferences for how they prefer to play.
Oh for sure. Team Green have been very naughty in peddling fps as a key metric

You'll definitely get people who want the latest/newest regardless, doesn't really matter about price/performance it's almost a status thing.
Let it continue being a thing.

Based on the S***show that GPU launches tend to be these days, the 2nd hand market is where its at.

I hope some lessons have been learnt.. don't sell your current GPU until you have another. Even if the generational uplift was fantastic the supply is not going to be there anyway for you to probably get a card.

Just picked up a new 7900xtx hellhound for £630. Was wanting to get a 5080 but seems like it’s terrible value and hardly any improvement and people saying price will drop a lot so gonna wait it out for a 5080 super or 60 series
Honestly the best move you could have made.

If I can nab a FE 5080 I'll be happy. If I'm forced into an AIB situation for 2-300 more quid I'm not sure I'll bother. Used 4090s are looking really attractive now

I did that too (parts are here). But I’m coming away from wc which means my GPU needs to be changed. So it’s a 5080 for me if I can get one, or a lower tier card second hand until I can sort out my 6900XT . Or I may refund the cpu and wait.

We’ll see.
Ahh do you mean your GPU literally came with a water block? if so damn yeah thats inconvenient when you want to switch your rig and cooling!

No, but I may have lost the screws for the cooler - edit so it'll be a case of trying to find those, plus the correct sized thermal pads

Can anyone help me out as a total non gamer and an owner of x2 machines with 4090’s in…

I do a lot of video stuff using DaVinci resolve with some heavy GPU effects, colour grading etc plus upscaling older files using topaz video ai, which still can take a couple of hours to do even with the 4090.

I was all set on (trying) to get x2 5090’s but now see the step up isn’t as good as people expected… but the card does now support 10bit mp4 video better which I use a lot.

It is for business so can get the VAT back and I should get a couple of thousand back when selling the 4090’s but spending prob £5k seems insane when I picked up my 4090’s on launch day for £1600 each.

All the reviews I’ve seen only mention gaming only so would I be wise to invest in the 5090 when my work pays my mortgage?
