NVIDIA 780 Ti Announced (18/10/13)

Stick with what you have got

Haha the irony of you making that comment Kaap.

Are you going to order 4 GTX 780ti's to complement your order of 4 R9 290X's?

:D

How can they come up with a price without knowing any other specs.:D

No idea, but let's hope they are right. 780's are due a price cut, and the 780ti coming in at $649 would be very good competition for the 290X.

I'm planning on keeping my 780 up until 20nm, the 780ti would have to pretty special for me to wanna part with my 1300mhz 780..

I think option 2 looks very likely as the GTX 780s weakness against the 290X is the 3gb of vram, also looking at the name is a big clue GTX 780ti.

i think u should just ask me bcos im right all the time :)
infact i duno why u all post!lol
my posts and animal pics, rest is taking up space :o

So why so much hype with the 290x when it's so close? Oh I know why because this forum is now 90% AMD because in the last year AMD did something good with 7 series pricing.

AMD have to give price/performance hell leave the £500 market to Nvidia. They must have shifted a fair few 7950's when the price was right. Between the two companies I find the whole carry on a bit tiresome.

Not likely:D

The only way NVidia are going to interest me in any more GK110 chips is if they do a full fat GK110 (all 15 SMX modules), big factory overclock and greatly beefed up power circuitry, this is not going to happen.:D

that explains the lack of pricing information (well any concrete info) from AMD, lets hope this causes a top end price war i might even get a new card if they come in under £400 :)

I could have sworn the K20 had 16 smx units...Meh! :D

What is amazing is if you run a Titan (14 SMX modules) v a GTX 690 (16 SMX modules) at the same clock speeds on something like Heaven 4 (which is all graphics), the difference in score is exactly the same % difference as the % difference between 14 and 16 SMX modules.

That should put most people to sleep.:D

Great post Gibbo, that settles most of the silly banter from both sides :)

Indeed - I forecast a busy time with the ban-hammer for the mods for the next week.

AMD and Nvidia know exactly what each other are upto - maybe not the finer points like pricing, but specs and probably timescales are no surprise to them. There will be leaks here/there from manufacturers and games developers and others in and around the industry everywhere.
