Nvidia 8-series Compatible Cases Thread

it fits with room to spare in my CoolerMaster Stacker 830 but the extra side fan enclosure puts pressure on the power cables and you can only fit two fans at the top because the two botom one's will catch on the power cables.

Confirmed the Antec P180 will fit the card, but it does mean you cannot use one of the middle hard disk bays. If you have a SLi board then both drive bays will be obscured.

Not a train smash, the bottom hard drive bays are all available, can fit 4 in there.

:) Just purchased the Antec 900 and a Thermaltake Toughpower 750w PSU.

Weeee!! Preppin for the 8800GTX!

The S80 isn't compatible?! Hah! Wouldn't like to be the proud owner of that costly beast only to find it was too small for the 8800! Bummer!

the Lian-Li PC-S80 might be ok but from the looks of it i cant see that there is enuff spce as the hd cage is using most of the space

but i could be wrong, can some 1 confirm if it as the sapce or not? please

mm yewen as this case i think so he might know?

If I go down the build my next PC route again, would the Thermaltake VA3000BWA Tsunami Dream SuperMidi Aluminium Tower be able to fit the 8800 GTX. However is anyone getting any of these cases for the 8800 GTX or GTS:

Thermaltake VB5001SNA Tai-Chi SuperMidi Tower
Thermaltake VE1000BWS Mozart TX Entertainment Tower Case
Zalman FC-ZE1 Fatal1ty Champion Computer Enclosure

mmm from looking at pics of the Thermaltake VB5001SNA Tai-Chi it might just work but u would have to put the hd cage above the pci slots and also the card will be sticking in the rom cage

well thats if the card can go in the rom cage if its level with the gfx card slot

as for the Thermaltake VE1000BWS Mozart TX cant see it working just dont look like there is enuff space for it

dunno about the Zalman FC-ZE1 Fatal1ty case tho

Can anyone confirm the size difference between the 8800gts and the 8800gtx? I freaked out when I saw the Thermaltake Aguila wouldn't take a gtx, but from memory the gts is about 4cm shorter. Would that fit?

Also, if not, can anyone suggest an alternative case in the same kind of price range? I was thinking about the Armour Jr (it's the same width as the full Armour), but looking at the pictures I get the feeling it's actually the same chassis as the Aguila...

Cheers!

Slightly off topic, but how do you guys rate the coolermaster wave master for a Core 2 Duo rig? I really can't justify blowing over £100 on a case, and that's about the only reasonably good looking <£100 case that'll fit a gtx :( The main thing I was dodgy about was 3 80mm fan...

A gorgeous case, but its cooling isn't the best. I have a Zalman heatsink on mine and it keeps it pretty cool, and that is with a 8800GTX. It would be better to have a couple more fans in there, but as long as you keep the airflow free of wires then it shouldn't be a problem. It also depends on your plans. If you are going to overclock a lot then it might not be the best, but I'd recommend it for "normal" use :)

lian li pc-7+B

I was thinking an e6400 on a ds4, 8800gtx (or gts, depending on budget), plus the usual pair of hdds, dvdrw. Oh, and the fatal1ty and tv tuner from my current rig.

That shouldn't be too cluttered, so ariflow won't be as bad as it might be. Obviously I'll be overclocking (somewhere around 3.2ghz), but I'll be using a freezer 7 pro.

@-I-Am-Great- Didn't think of that one. Definitely worth looking at...
