**Nvidia G-Sync owners thread**

I was sooo looking at getting that swift, but the one review on the product page confirmed my suspicions about it being just like every other TN panel, terrible image which you just cant get looking right no matter how you adjust the settings.
That was just how the 120Hz Benq panel that I had was, it also was supposed to look good for TN but I went for the Asus PB278Q in the end.
No offence to you all that have and like it, but I can't stop thinking your just settling for crappy image quality for the G-Sync and fast refresh rate, I just can't do that myself, which sucks, terrible decision to have to choose between, I really want G-Sync. :(

Image quality is just fine and in a whole other league to my previous Asus 120hz tn. Check the swift thread, a few users have posted very good setting profiles. Out of the box settings are a bit meh.

At the moment yes, the most features and superb build quality. There's no hiding from the fact it's expensive, but I haven't seen anyone say they haven't gotten their moneys worth out of it :)

Plus with it being 1440p native, you can adjust dsr to 4x and sample games up to 5k I believe.

I can see why you'd think that - I did too and then I got one.

How very wrong I was :D

I think us users know what is what Dan and I tend to skim over those posts. Sure there is some colour move when you fidget about but other than that, this is the best monitor I have owned by a mile.

Added you to the honors roll :)

im a bit of a monitor hoarder & go through many many monitors and no matter what TN will never be as good as Half decent IPS/PVA for colour, but does it matter for games/qaulity? not really. can you tell the difference between 16m and Billion colours most likely not?

i think what reviews lack to understand is they compare a TN to a IPS. their totally different usage scenarios

TN - for average Joe or majority of Game Enthusiasts, there not worried about a bit of Colour shift or Colour reproduction, fast refresh rates - Fine for them

PVA - Photo/Video editors or geeky people, that Want bit more colour accuracy less light shift, less focus of response time - fine for them

IPS - CAD/CAM/Close to like Users - that require colour accuracy & true to life as possible with no colour shift or close to, who dont care for response time - fine for them

ive gamed on PVA/IPS/TN first hand

once had a IPS with 68ms of lag did i notice? sometimes, did i care not much. it really depends on the user.

lot of reviewers are to quick to judge. Linus for example does it well he goes
"if your a xxx who wants this is perfect for you" not many reviews do this..

I didn't used to like Linus, in truth he just irritated me, but the last few months after watching a fair few of his reviews I rate him as one of the best, superb reviewer.

Recently G-SYNC keeps dropping from my system and requires a reboot. I hear other users reporting this also.

I cannot tell if it's to do with monitors sleeping then resuming, a driver update recently or something else.

Had it happen once, needed to pull the power on the monitor to resolve. I do always put my PC to sleep though and every time I wake it up (except for that one occasion) I get the notification about a G-SYNC display being connected. Somewhat annoying :p

Colour is very fine on the swift.

Its not as black as I had hoped but contrast is good and just generally great for gaming.

That's last 5-10% you get on the colours with IPS isn't worth it for the slower pixels IMO

For Shankly.

Go to around 43 seconds in for the batman demo and you'll see what I'm talking about mate. Still a stutter present on the vsync ON demo compared to the gsync one. You'll notice the same when you end up getting a project freesync monitor next year.
