**Nvidia G-Sync owners thread**

For Shankly.

Go to around 43 seconds in for the batman demo and you'll see what I'm talking about mate. Still a stutter present on the vsync ON demo compared to the gsync one. You'll notice the same when you end up getting a project freesync monitor next year.

This is spot on, I am a massive Batman fan and can happily play this game for hours and I always thought it was very smooth/stutter free/tear free until I played it with G-Sync. It is amazing how our (or mine) accept what it see's as normal but then when you see it tear and stutter free, it is a complete different ball game.

so i may or may not have ordered a swift to try. if i don't like it ill just add it to my monitor storage collection :)

Cool mate :)

Aye it is. Its so hard to watch someone playing a game on a normal monitor now, especially with vsync off. Honestly don't know how I put up with it for all those years lol.

Innit. No way I could go back now. I am sold on this tech and glad I ponied up the extra £200 over the Acer 4K and grabbed the ROG Swift.

Yeah that swift is a no brainer really for gamers. It didn't exist when my 1440p monitor died, so I went with the only gsync panel at the time out of interest more than anything else. Its turned out to be a good decision though as the res is fine for games as my GPUs only have 3gb VRAM anyway. When it comes to the point of upgrading my GPU's, I'll more than likely go mental and get the swift or its direct replacement in a year or two, just for the extra resolution!

You not getting my point are you? First I don't use vsync and second tearing doesn't bother me. Am used to it, meaning I don't see it unless I go looking for it. Witch again am more into the game am playing for it to even bother me.

What was the two reasons for Gsync? To reduce stutter and remove screen tear. The stutter I don't get because I don't use vsync or any sync. The only benefit I would get is screen tear gone. And tbh it isn't something I care about.

So my point still stand, Gsync or Freesync will only truly benefit the people who must use vsync and hate screen tear.

I didn't miss the point at all as you said, quite boldly, that there was no need for gsync. That video proves otherwise. Your opinion is, thankfully, not the majority either. I really do think you'll change your tune when you get your hands on a project freesync monitor in the next year or so and see the tech for yourself.

What you perceive as 'normal' and 'fine' changes drastically once you've used gsync.

As many have said it's not really something you can begin to explain on a forum, you'd need to physically sit someone in front of a gsync screen to make a point of how good it is.

You are spot on about it being something you have to see for yourself. I said that a few months ago when I was the first person on this forum to get a gsync monitor and offered my opinion on it, plus did some testing for users too. Its fine saying "its better" and giving the reasons why, but none of it matters unless the person actually see's it in action.

No I didn't say they was no need at all. Lol they is a need it's something people have been crying for.

What was the main reason for Gsync? And it wasn't s screen tear. Screen tear is just a bonus.

Profit was the main reason for it, everything else is secondary :P We all know that's the case, especially with businesses.

Maybe its how you worded it then mate, who know's. I still think you'll change your opinion massively when you get to try this tech out yourself for more than a minute in a busy shop.

Ignoring the selling point. The main reason was frame stutter and input lag.
