This thread is filled with far too many people that own 8800 GT's calling this card poor to justify their own card Think we all need to understand: A) It's had ONE review, and a poor one... B) We still don't even know the price, yeah we can guess all day but there's little point. It's either going to be £200 ish and please many people or be £250 or above and everyone is just going to buy GT's. Judgement needs reserving until it's had more than a single review.
I'd definetly pick one up over a GT if they came in at £200
You said yourself it's "Disappointing" it's a stone's throw away from poor, even seen some people saying it's overpriced in another thread too without even knowing the final price, people mocking the card cause it's not some stunning card compared to their GT... take it whichever way but people are implying this card is poor, and it's mostly the GT owners, or maybe just all of willhub's funnily biased posts are making it look like there is more of them than there really isI don't think anyone has said the new GTS is poor.
Well said tbh, well said.all the GT owners justifying their purchases to the high heavens, who are they trying to kid
They are only going to be close because of the markup of the GT's because of the shortages. Nvidia are NOT going to increase the RRP because they know that they aren't making enough GT's, and shop owners (most of them) are NOT going to charge a higher markup to keep the GTS and the GT inline. It'd actually work out better for them to keep the GT at it's current higher markup until the shortage stops and keep the GTS at whatever their normal markup would be, mainly because they would not have a massive backlog for people wanting GT's and wouldn't have to stress constantly trying to get them in and have people complaining at the markup. Its a GFX card and the GTS will not be 200 at launch. Not when GT's are close to this.
Maybe they will... some of those results on Tweaktown are really suspect. Especially the Crysis ones. The rest of them don't look that bad, some nice increases across the board for a card that basically doesn't have any official drivers yet.I wanted the GTS to widen the gap over the GT so I could get one.
Justifing a card that cost peanuts?
LOL

Anyone with a GT doesn't need to.Thats the point.
Well that's a crap review if I ever saw one!
No, luck played a big part since most retailers sold out within minutes of the 150 quid stock and are yet to get more in at that price.
Also the GT is behind the GTX in almost every benchmark so it's hardly GTX performance (technically speaking )
something seems strange to me
on the first crisis graph it shows the gt being faster than the new gts on medium settings
dont see how that can be true
Unoptimised drivers, irregularities in the benchmark.can anyone explain this?
Like I said calculated. We spent most of the morning on launch day hunting for the cheapest cards.
Not sure the GTX spanks my OC GT in most games. Technically speaking
With regard to benchmarks lets look at 3D Mark 06. Oh dear I don't see a GTX anywhere?
Just to be clear I'm not a fanboy. I buy technology because I find it interesting and the GT for the money is one interesting card I'm sure you will agree?
Unoptimised drivers, irregularities in the benchmark.
so in other words these results are not worth looking at till there sorted
would that be correct?
